The Taiwan compatriots in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression were not absent, and he made the "crime" of invading China, which was deeply hidden in the Japanese Imperial Palace, open to the world

Today is the anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. Since the Sino-Japanese War, the Taiwan compatriots who suffered from Japanese colonial rule have their hearts set on the motherland and made tremendous contributions to the nation's War of Resistance, and the Taiwan compatriots in the War of Resistance Against Japan have not been absent. Among them was Cai Zhikan, a Taiwanese compatriot with both wisdom and courage, who made the infamous "Tanaka Sonata" known to the world.

"A gentleman takes revenge, and the ninth generation does not forget"

Cai Zhikan, formerly known as Cai Debian, was born in 1888 in Houlong Town, Miaoli County, Taiwan, to a local famous family. After the Qing government ceded Taiwan in 1895, Cai Zhikan's father actively raised funds to support the rebels against Japan. In 1899, when his father brought the 11-year-old Cai Zhikan to Tokyo to do business, he taught his son to have the heart to recover his homeland, "a gentleman takes revenge, the ninth does not forget, may my descendants have a person who will be overthrown." His father's Tokyo "Cai Fengyuan Trading Company" accumulated a lot of wealth, laying a material foundation for Cai Zhikan to engage in anti-Japanese national salvation activities in the future.

Having lived in Japan for a long time, Choi has an in-depth understanding of Japanese politics. At that time, Japan was in power of the "Constitutional Political Friends Association (SeiyōKai)", and Yoshiichi Tanaka was the prime minister. This political group, formed by Japan's "hero" Itō Hirobumi of the Sino-Japanese War, has always insisted on territorial expansion and plotted to invade China. It is precisely for this reason that Cai Zhikan did not hesitate to use a large amount of money to fund the key members of the opposition party "Democratic Party", hoping to use this to contain the strength of the "Political Friends Association".

At the same time, Cai Zhikan took advantage of his position as a wealthy businessman in Japan and Taiwan to actively lobby Japanese government and opposition dignitaries, and through the publication of the "Nichi-Hua" magazine in Japan, he publicized that China and Japan should cultivate good diplomatic relations, hoping to curb Japan's militarist ideology.

Under the cover of business, Cai Zhikan traveled between northeast China and Japan, made extensive contacts with high-level political figures, and became a figure with the Japanese imperial family, senior political officials, political party leaders, and military and political leaders in northeast China, creating conditions for him to secretly engage in anti-Japanese activities and undertake special missions.

"It is advisable to start with a quick plot"

Due to business needs, Cai Zhikan often traveled back and forth between Tokyo and Shenyang, and met Wang Jiazhen, who was in charge of diplomacy with Japan under Zhang Xueliang. The common patriotic aspirations made them close friends, and Cai Zhikan also became the "sword" of Wang Jiazhen's intelligence work against Japan. One day in 1928, Cai Zhikan suddenly received a parcel of flatbread sent from Shenyang. Inside, he found a secret letter containing Wang Jiazhen, head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Northeast Security Commander's Office. The secret letter wrote: "The British and American legends, Prime Minister Tanaka's chapter, are quite of a stake to me, and it is advisable to start with a quick plot, and the cost is not calculated." ”

Originally, on April 14, 1928, the Chinese Minister in Japan sent an urgent telegram to the Chinese government: "The Japanese Cabinet is studying the methods, steps, and stages for the specific realization of the Tanaka Recital, which is regarded as the centennial plan of the Japanese Empire, and I hope that our government will pay special attention to the search." The situation was urgent, and Wang Jiazhen thought of Cai Zhikan, a businessman in Tokyo.

Originally titled "The Empire's Positive and Fundamental Policy Toward Manchuria and Mongolia", "Tanaka Sonata" was a song played by Japanese Prime Minister Yoshiichi Tanaka to Emperor Showa in 1927. The full text is more than 40,000 words long, which is an integration of the content of the "Oriental Conference" presided over by Tanaka and details the strategy of Japan's invasion of China.

If "Tanaka Sonata" can be made public, it can expose Japan's ambitions to invade China to the world. At that time, many foreign journalists and agents gathered in Tokyo, and their purpose was the same as Cai Zhikan's, that is, to find the legendary "Tanaka Sonata". At the same time, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department is also closely monitoring the every move of foreigners in Tokyo. It is not easy for a Chinese in Japan to get the Tanaka Recital.

Inconsistencies in Japan Asano for Takumi

What Tsai had in mind was to use Prime Minister Tanaka's opposition, the opposition "Democratic Party, the Democratic Party." It turned out that after the "Eastern Conference," the contradiction between Prime Minister Tanaka's radical China policy and the conservative policy of the "Democratic Party" became increasingly fierce. The "Democratic Party" believes that only the fall of the Tanaka cabinet can avoid the War between Japan and China and ensure the security of the Japanese Imperial Reunification.

According to the plan, Tsai Jikan invited former cabinet minister Takejiro Bedji and the current chief executive of the Democratic Party, Yanataro Nagai, and other "democratic party" dignitaries to persuade them that if they wanted to overthrow the Tanaka cabinet, they must make "Tanaka Fold" public.

A few days later, The Bedtime told Choi that his plan had been approved by the royalists. "The Minister of the Interior, Count Nobuhide Makino, said that if the Chinese government dared to make tanaka's recital international, the royalists could use British and American public opinion to prevent Tanaka from launching a policy of force. If China can accept this, Makino will allow you to copy it. ”

Entering the heavily guarded Imperial Palace of Japan is no easy feat. Cai Zhikan described, "There are many imperial policemen in the palace, wearing long shirts, holding large knives, and watching day and night. There is a long bridge in front of each gate, which the Japanese call 'Broken Foot Bridge'. If someone sneaks across the gate bridge, the imperial police will wield a long knife, cut off their feet, and then punish them with disrespect (death). ”

To enter such a place, it is impossible without an inside line. This inner line is the younger brother of a concubine, the imperial scrivener Yamashita Isamu. One night in the summer of 1928, Cai Zhikan disguised himself as a craftsman who repaired books, took the "Temporary Pass Of the Imperial Palace" sent by Makino, and was led by Yamashita Toyo to infiltrate the Japanese Imperial Palace.

After entering the library, the Tanaka Recital was placed in front of Cai Zhikan. Originally, he wanted to shoot the music, but because he could only enter and exit the royal library at night, the ordinary lighting was not bright enough, and he could not use flash, so he had to give up. Finally, Cai Zhikan spread the translucent carbonated paper on the original and traced it with a pencil. It was not until dawn the next day that the "Tanaka Recital" had not been copied, and Cai Zhikan had to leave the library. The next night, he sneaked into the library again and copied the entire manuscript.

According to Cai Zhikan's recollection, he then hid the copy of the Tanaka Recital in the middle of the suitcase, escorted it from Tokyo to Shenyang, and handed it over to Wang Jiazhen by hand.

In 1929, the Nanjing-published Shishi Monthly, Vol. 1, No. 2, published an article entitled "Thrilling Japanese Manchurian-Mongolian Active Policy: Yoshiichi Tanaka's Sonata of the Japanese Emperor". It is mentioned: "Whoever wants to conquer Indochina must first conquer Manchuria; if he wants to conquer the world, he must first conquer Indochina." The Tanaka cabinet collapsed in the same year, but the exposure of "Tanaka's Fold" still did not stop the pace of Japan's invasion of China, nor did it stop the demise of Japanese militarism.

Do not favor public and private half money

In 1940, Tsai, who had left Japan, was arrested by the Japanese army while gathering intelligence and imprisoned in Taiwan, where he was not released until 1945. At that time, Cai Zhi could not hide his excitement and wrote "Taiwan's Guangfu Festival Homecoming Day":

Full of heart and letters, he is mad and ashamed of his lack of talents. When should I get Han Ou's pen, the thousands of miles of rivers and mountains will be full. Only after drinking a cup of water, it does not benefit the public and private half of the money. Advise the king not to seal the marquis' affairs, and the thin horse is heavy and the lotus is confused.

On September 29, 1955, Cai Zhikan died in Taiwan. Chiang Kai-shek issued an order of praise to him. And Cai Zhikan's ancestral hometown of Shishi, Quanzhou, Fujian Province, is also proud of having such a resistance fighter.
