In a statement posted on his Twitter account, Aklan Kabi said: "The decision of the Iraqi state to restore sovereignty can only be achieved through the barrel of a gun, which will deliver Iraq from the hands of the occupiers.".
Kabi said the Iraqi occupiers had plundered the country's resources, blatantly interfered in the country's affairs and incited unrest.
He condemned the continued U.S. occupation of Iraq, stressing that although the Iraqi government announced a deadline for U.S. troops to leave Iraq at the end of December, nothing had happened in that regard.
In July 2021, after a senior State Department official asked iraqi resistance groups to "not disturb us," Kirby said the Iraqi resistance forces would not leave U.S. troops and would celebrate the country's liberation with their remains.
Back in July, U.S. President Joe Biden and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Kadimi announced that the U.S. Mission in Iraq would transition from a combat role to an "advisory" role by the end of the year.

The demand is in line with a law passed by Congress in January 2020, when the U.S. military assassinated two key commanders fighting the Islamic State in Baghdad on Jan. 3 of the same year, namely, Iranian General Qasim Suleimani and Iraq's Abu Mahdi Muhandis.
