Dehong Dai Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, known as "Bamboo Township", referred to as "Dehong Prefecture",

It is located on the border of China and Myanmar in western Yunnan Province and the southern extension of the Hengduan Mountains in the western part of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau.

To the east is connected to Baoshan City,

It is surrounded by Myanmar on three sides, with a length of 503.8 kilometers.

The total area is 11,526 square kilometers, and the permanent population is more than 1.31 million.

There are Dai, Jingpo, Han, Lisu, Achang, Deang and other ethnic groups.

There are 2 county-level cities under its jurisdiction: Mangshi and Ruili;

3 counties: Longchuan County, Lianghe County, Yingjiang County.

The Prefecture People's Government is located in Mangshi Town, Mangshi City (formerly Luxi City).

Because of its location on the border, the five county-level units under the jurisdiction of Dehong Prefecture are known locally as the "Outer Five Counties".

Because the western mountains of the Gaoligong Mountains extend into the territory of Dehong Prefecture,

Therefore, the original landform of the cutting mountain in the northeast of Dehong Prefecture was formed, which was high and steep in the northeast and low and wide in the southwest.

The national first class of protected animals include green peacocks, bee monkeys, langurs, golden snub-nosed monkeys, bear monkeys, clouded leopards, Bengal tigers, Asian elephants, etc.;

National Class II protected animals monkey-faced eagle, proto-chicken, pangolin, sunbird, rock sheep, otter, king cobra, vulture, etc.;

The national three types of protected animals are white spoonbills, bearded vultures, peregrine falcons, grey cranes, clams, baby fish, etc.

Minerals include coal, petroleum, iron, tin, lead, zinc, copper, beryllium, uranium, germanium, clay, mica, crystal, precious stones, limestone and so on.
