According to reports, this year, the Weishan County Forestry and Grassland Bureau set up a 29-person bird ringing working group to fully launch the migratory bird environmental history work in mid-October. Ornithology is an important means used in the world to study the migration dynamics and laws of migratory birds. Through ornithological work, it is possible to understand the relationship between bird breeding grounds and wintering grounds, identify bird migration paths, study the life history of birds, study the population ecology of birds, and monitor and study foci of disease.
Bird rings are captured at sites where birds are concentrated (breeding grounds, wintering grounds, or stopovers in the middle of migration), where special metal or colored plastic rings with the NSC mailing address and unique number are fixed to the bird's calves or tarsus, and then released so that they can be captured or observed again at other locations. During the ring period, the staff took turns to catch birds in groups for 24 hours in Torido-Okashi, and according to the technical regulations, accurately identified the species of birds, measured all species (including beak length, full length, wing length, tarnishness and weight) and made records, and then released the birds after completing the data entry work.
