The most recently high-profile episode is none other than "Chernobyl".
This mini-series based on the Chernobyl nuclear accident, after broadcasting, received a super high score of 9.7 on IMDb and Douban, and is a literal divine drama.
What has conquered Chinese and foreign film fans is the "sense of reality". This sense of reality is reflected in two aspects, one is the presentation of the horror of the nuclear accident, and the other is the restoration of the "truth" of the nuclear accident.

This "sense of realism" is especially evident in the first episode. The narrative of the entire series begins with "revealing the truth", and the shaping of tension in the Soviet Union is more interesting than the nuclear accident itself.

Recently, the theatrical tone has been replaced by the theory of "constructing the truth", that is, the "truth" told in "Chernobyl" is constructed by the Western world. So "Chernobyl" is not telling the truth, but constructing the truth.
In fact, according to this theory, all the film and television works that can be seen in the world are tools of public opinion.
The great thing about "Chernobyl" is precisely that even if it is exported to the "truth" that the Western world believes, it will combine reason and fun, and the filming is vivid and interesting, both entertaining and convincing.

The narrative of the series centers on Valery Legasov and begins with his death. This important member of the accident committee at the time chose to hang himself the day before the second anniversary of the nuclear accident, the day before the results of the investigation were announced. Before dying, he recorded tapes that recorded facts that had not been made public.
Two things were identified with Valery Legasov as the protagonist:
1. The tone of "Chernobyl" is critical and desperate;
2, "Chernobyl" restores a lot of real details.
These two points can be seen everywhere in the play. Chernobyl is not so much a reflection of the "truth" constructed by the Western world as it is from the protagonist Wagasov.

The most respected inorganic chemist of the SOVIET Union was the first to insist on the evacuation of the inhabitants after the accident, the one who dared to confront the Soviet authorities to restore the truth, the one who remained in Chernobyl after the mission was completed to investigate the cause of the accident, and the one who was still worried about the nuclear security of the USSR until his death.
He said: "[This accident is] an example of all the mistakes in the management of the national economy of the USSR that have been going on for decades. ”
He was twice elected the highest honor of the SOVIET Union, but twice refused.
"Chernobyl" recreates Vallesov's experience: on April 26, I received a phone call, on behalf of the scientific community to become part of the accident committee, went to Chernobyl to see the purple sky aware of the seriousness, boarded a helicopter to determine whether the reactor core exploded...
In addition to Valery Legasov, the play is interspersed with many clues, most of which are filmed strictly according to the data. For example, one of the first narrative lines to appear is adapted from the self-description of Liu Xia, the widow of the sacrificial firefighter Vasily Ignatenko, from the book "The Sacrifice of Chernobyl".
If the scientist Legasov witnessed disasters, lies, tens of thousands of sacrifices and deaths from the grand height of the country, then Liu Xia's story represents the most heartbreaking individual experience in the Chernobyl accident.
This is the brilliance of Chernobyl, which does not use sentient beings to sensationalize, but explains it all with a tragedy.

In Chernobyl, Liu Xia ignores nurse warnings by touching, hugging, and kissing her husband, who is equivalent to a highly polluting radiation. This made the crowd off the screen very angry, thinking that she was like the brainless head heroine in the vulgar horror movie.

In fact, everything about Liu Xia and her husband in the play basically has a factual basis. As Liu Xia herself said, this story is not only about death, but also about love.

The most important of these is that she and Vasily are very sweet newlyweds. Although there is no picture of the two "holding hands" shopping written in the book, Liu Xia smiled when she saw her sleeping husband, and also showed this sweet state.
In this case, no matter how dangerous it was told, Liu Xia would rather choose to stay.
But in her self-report, Liu Xia also mentioned the Soviet authorities' concealment of the public.
For some reason, the doctor diagnosed them with gas poisoning, and no one mentioned radiation... No one mentions radiation... It's just that...... People are washing streets with a powder...
Liu Xia's adventurous behavior is a mixture of ignorant fearlessness and fearless love.
Chernobyl is a bold portrayal of vasily and other wounded people who were so badly irradiated that they were radioactively burned.
The terrible image that appears in the play can also be found in Liu Xia's narrative, from the initial swelling disappearing, sitting on the bed playing cards, to the whole body full of blisters, cracked skin, and then to the skin falling, the separation of body tissue and bones, the fragments of the lungs, the fragments of the liver gushing out of the mouth, all of which are reflected.
The images depicting lesions in the play are particularly realistic, especially in the book that Vasily 's central nervous system is damaged and his skull is completely damaged', and in the play Vasily's head has been deformed, and there is a feeling that the skull has disappeared.

The film's other protagonist, the Belarusian female scientist Ulana Homuk, is completely fictional.
From Urana, we can see from what starting point "Chernobyl" created this play, and whether there is a suspicion of bullying the Soviet Union that "dead people can't speak".
Screenwriter Maxin said that while Urana never really existed, she was real because she symbolized many people— women in Soviet medicine and science.
Between 1962 and 1964, 40 percent of doctorates in chemistry in the Soviet Union were women, compared with 5 percent in the United States. Since the 1950s, more than 70 percent of Soviet doctors have been women.

Because there were few women in the Soviet regime, and women had made outstanding contributions to medicine and science, Maxine created the role of Ulana, a Belarusian nuclear expert. In the play, Urana and those real heroes have the same status.
In fact, these heroes are the protagonists of "Chernobyl".
For the shaping of the tense atmosphere in the Soviet Union, the setting of the tone for the "man-made disaster", is concentrated in the first episode. From the second episode onwards, heroes who fought their best and even sacrificed their lives against the disaster slowly appeared, from the firefighter Vasily, to the scientist Legasov, to Ulana, plumbers, miners, the stories of these heroes became the focus of the series.

The depiction of the Soviet Union in Chernobyl still bears the colored glasses of the Western world. But from the creator's point of view, "Chernobyl" is filling the blind spots of the Western world – with a heroic "truth" full of human brilliance.
Universal human nature, precisely some people, do not believe in existence.
