(Correspondent: Lu Yun Quan Linghui) At 8:30 a.m. on October 24, 2021, the inaugural meeting of the 24th Youth League Committee Student Union of the School of Mechanical Engineering of Xiangtan University was successfully held in the lecture hall of the Student Activity Center. The guests attending the conference were: Deng Jianyong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Liu Tao, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Zhu Aimin and Yu Huimei, teachers of the Student Affairs Office, members of the Presidium of the Student Union of the 24th Youth League Committee of the School of Mechanical Engineering, all members of the Student Union of the Youth League Committee, sports teams, referee associations, debate teams and all members of the Student Open Laboratory.
The conference officially opened with a majestic and exciting group song. First of all, Secretary Liu Tao delivered an opening speech. In his speech, he pointed out that the purpose of the student organization is to guide the majority of students to make continuous progress, so that each student can become his own "promoter" through the transformation of "other discipline - self-discipline - law person" and the improvement of "people help - help - help others". He also put forward three suggestions for new students who have just joined the Youth League Committee Student Union: First, they must have organizational discipline and actively participate in internal construction and school activities. Second, there should be a work plan and summary reflection. Third, we should set an example in learning and quality. Subsequently, Teacher Zhu of the Student Affairs Office read out the documents of the School Youth League Committee, and Yao Yiting, the first deputy secretary of the Youth League Committee of the Academy, led the students to solemnly take an oath.
After taking the oath, Jiang Lingfeng, president of the Student Union of the Youth League Committee of the Academy, delivered an inaugural speech. He reviewed and combined with his own experience, he pointed out that in the future work, all departments should unite and cooperate, adhere to the purpose of "serving students wholeheartedly", continuously strengthen internal ideological construction and work style construction, innovate work methods, clarify work goals, and at the same time dig deep into the characteristics of our college, give play to professional advantages, and carry out various characteristic activities in combination with the background of the times, expand the influence of our institute, enrich the campus culture, and create a better campus. Subsequently, the appointment ceremony was held, and the leading teachers issued a certificate of appointment to the members of the bureau, and the bureau issued a certificate of appointment to the ministers of each department and congratulated them.
Finally, Secretary Deng made a concluding speech for the conference. He stressed that as an engineering student, we should pay more attention to the sense of ceremony, and the inaugural meeting of the Youth League Committee Student Union made the students deeply aware of their responsibilities and missions, at the same time, Secretary Deng called on the students to strengthen their ideals and beliefs and strive to improve their comprehensive quality. And put forward the following four suggestions for everyone: First, accurate positioning, clear responsibilities, and deeply understand that the work of the Youth League Committee Student Union is to serve students and exercise themselves. Second, be strict with yourself, serve your classmates wholeheartedly, and strive to improve your scientific and cultural literacy and moral accomplishment. Third, correctly handle the relationship between study and work, and understand that the duty of students is to learn. Fourth, always have a grateful heart, do things for the sake of the overall situation, collective honor considerations. At this point, the conference officially ended in the school song. The school song is melodious, and all the members of the Student Union of the Youth League Committee of the College will also bear in mind the school motto and serve the students wholeheartedly in the future work.
The complete success of this conference has injected new vitality into the development of the student work of the College and put forward new requirements for the members of the Student Council of the College. In the coming year, every member will temper and improve themselves, actively serve the students, play an exemplary and leading role in learning and life, and contribute to the work of the Student Union! I believe that with the joint efforts of various departments, the new student union will be able to build the School of Mechanical Engineering into a warmer, more harmonious and more brilliant!
