Huo Yong believes that to become a role model for young clinicians, we should reflect our own level from the clinical "unique skills", which includes both excellent clinical skills or means of "one move and one style", as well as innovative thinking in diagnosis and treatment and scientific research. It is necessary to focus on unmet clinical needs, think more, practice and try, and better serve the clinic and patients through medical innovation, make up for shortcomings, and promote the development of disciplines.

Huo Yong said that in order to truly become a qualified doctor, you should go through three training stages: the first stage should be to do a good job in "basic skills", learn the content of their own professional courses, master the most basic medical knowledge and flexibly use; the second stage should pay attention to the role of "leading and leading", the same frequency as the development of their own team and discipline, and promote the innovation and development of a field; the third stage should be "step out", can not only stay in their own industry field, effective doctors, More importantly, it is more important to contribute more powerfully to the medical and health cause of the whole society, integrate its professional knowledge into national policies, and truly promote the close integration of the doctor's industry with social needs and public needs, which is a step that must be taken to become a "great doctor of Cangsheng".

Looking back on the nearly 40 years of medical practice, Huo Yong sighed: "My growth process is actually in line with the development path of contemporary young doctors, that is, always supervising self-growth, leading the common growth of disciplines, integrating into social development, and then helping the progress of health from the national level." ”

In his youth, Huo Yong continuously improved his own level by learning new knowledge and new technologies, and introduced advanced foreign technologies back to China and applied them to the clinic. During his 20 years as the director of the Department of Cardiology of Peking University First Hospital and as the chairman of the Cardiology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, he has always been committed to promoting exchanges and cooperation between various disciplines in various hospitals, such as promoting the interventional technology of coronary heart disease to all parts of the country through the National Interventional Cardiology Forum, and rooting the concept of "popularization, standardization and improvement" in the cardiovascular physician group. In 2016, Huo Yong began to undertake the specialized training of cardiovascular physicians in China, and through the construction of a specialized training system, helped cardiovascular physicians comprehensively improve their treatment capabilities, and effectively promoted the development of the entire discipline.

Talking about his multiple roles, Huo Yong proposed that there is a common core between these roles - "I am a doctor".
