Carry forward the spirit of Li Da and continue the red blood

—— Speech at the "Raising of the National Flag" ceremony

Party Secretary Huang Duanxiang

(October 11, 2021)

Dear students,

Good morning, everyone!

Continue the red blood and create a better future. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the great Communist Party of China, and one hundred years ago, among the core members of the cpc in preparation for the CPC congress was our alumni: Li Da, an outstanding Marxist theorist, propagandist, and educator. As the secretary of the party committee of the school, at the moment when the whole country is carrying out the study and education of party history, I would like to take this opportunity to take this opportunity to review the first generation of "one Chinese people" represented by Li Da, and while remembering the historical merits of the revolutionary martyrs, we should focus on protecting, inheriting, and carrying forward the precious spiritual wealth they left behind, which is of great significance for our school to run a satisfactory education for the people in the new period.

Li Da, horn heming, was born in 1890 to a sharecropper family in the former Lingling County. In 1905, he was admitted to our school, which was called Yongzhoufu Government Middle School at that time; in 1909, he was admitted to the Beijing Normal School, which is today's Beijing Normal University; in 1913, he became a japanese official and student with the results of the province's "list eyes"; in 1921, he was elected as the propaganda director of the Central Bureau of the Cpc Central Committee; after the founding of New China, he successively served as the vice president of the Central Political and Legal Cadre School, the president of Hunan University, and the president of Wuhan University. Mao Zedong, a great man of a generation, once praised him as a "real man" and "Lu Xun in the theoretical circles." Throughout the legendary life of alumnus Li Da, his spirit of "patriotic responsibility" and "upholding the truth" is particularly worthy of learning and promoting by those of us who come after us.

Patriotic responsibility

During his studies at our school, Li Da, an alumnus who took on patriotic responsibilities, participated in such campaigns as "boycotting all foreign goods" and "strengthening physical (military) training." He also stood on the bench and read to all the teachers and students of the school the famous revolutionary and educator Xu Teli's bitter complaint against the Qing court for taking lives, arbitrarily killing innocent people, and cutting up land for indemnity, and called on all teachers and students to take action and carry out an anti-feudal and anti-aggression national salvation movement.

He was also the main member of the later Chinese Students' National Salvation League studying in Japan; he was among the first 8 party members in the history of the Communist Party of China; and he was also the leader who signed the declaration of the "Basic Program for the Chinese people's War against Japan" with the "Six Programs for Resisting Japan and Saving the Country" as the basic content of the CPC.

He was the one who founded the Communist Party of China's first secret organ publication, the Communist Party, and the first civilian girls' school; he was actually responsible for the CPC's major preparations, organization, and reception; it was he who personally drafted the first party program, political program, and party constitution; he was the one who persuaded the famous patriotic general Feng Yuxiang to unite with the Communists to resist Japan, and it was he who finally contributed to the formation of the "Chahar Anti-Japanese Allied Army."

It is precisely because of these similar moves, with a "red" heart, that Li Da, an alumnus who constantly throws "daggers" at the enemy in theory and action, once became the number one person on the list of the Japanese and puppet authorities in the big search and arrest list.

Hold on to the truth

In addition to patriotic responsibility, alumnus Li Da also set a good example for us in the pursuit and adherence to the truth: when he was 15 years old, he was young and small when he was admitted to our school, and he was thirsty for knowledge in only one semester, jumping from the last place on the admission list to the first place in the whole school; in order to spread the truth, during his study in Japan, he carefully translated three books such as "Materialist View of History" and sent them back to China for publication, and his later "< Practice Theory> Explanation" and "Materialist Dialectics Outline" More than 10 other works have become immortal classics in the history of Marxism. In June 1923, the three major decisions of the Communist Party of China to join the Kuomintang in their personal names, for which Li Da and Chen Duxiu had a fierce dispute, and he believed that "the class foundation and goal of struggle between the Communist Party of China and the Kuomintang are different, and cooperation within the Party will damage the independence of our Party and have a bearing on the life and death of the Party", and stressed that "any decision of our Party must proceed from the reality of China and cannot blindly follow the command of the Communist International." "History proves that alumnus Li Da's persistence is correct.

When it comes to upholding the truth, the story of alumni Li Da repeatedly "confronting" Chairman Mao should be very representative:

For a while, in Chairman Mao's view, "Parallel to Marx is not Marxism, lower than Marx is not Considered Marxism, and only by surpassing Marx can it be considered Marxism." Li Da, an alumnus, said: "We should study Marxism and develop Marxism." ”

After the Great Leap Forward put forward the slogan of "how bold are the people, how productive are the land," Li Da said that this was idealistic, and said in front of Chairman Mao: "If you have a fever of forty degrees, you will have a fever of forty-one degrees and forty-two degrees below."

When Chairman Mao inspected Wuhan University, he affirmed the achievements of the "education revolution" of Wuhan University, but Li Da, an alumnus, said in a clear-cut manner: "The education revolution in 1958 did very badly, dampened the enthusiasm of intellectuals, and damaged the self-esteem of intellectuals." "It's ridiculous for students to write big posters to professors and criticize professors." ......

Dear students. In the history of the party in the past century, there are many red genes that need to be inherited, there are too many heroes to remember, and there are also a series of powerful spirits that need to be carried forward. The school song, the Red Chamber, Li Da Square and the bronze statue... The history of the school for a hundred years is not only a history of endeavor, but also a history of red. The alumni and faculty members of our school have sacrificed and run for the interests of the country, the party and the people, and their deeds can be sung and wept, and they can become a genealogy alone, and the list of revolutionary martyrs alone includes: Jiang Yuhua, who joined the Communist Party of China in 1927, Shu Yi, who joined the Communist Party of China in 1925, Tang Jian, who joined the Communist Party of China in 1922, as well as Deng Guoguang, Wen Xichun, Ouyang Li, Xu Ziyuan, Tang Ke, Lü Xumeng, Wu Yun, Zhou Qin, Feng Kai, and so on. Yesterday was the 110th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution, and in the vast torrent of the Xinhai Revolution, there was also no shortage of "one Chinese people," the most prominent of whom was the martyr Jiang Xianlie, who was secretly ordered by the Father of the Nation, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, to engage in anti-Yuan (Shikai) activities in 1913. These revolutionary martyrs, who were vigorous and enterprising during their period of study, all closely linked their own destiny with the fate of the motherland; after joining the revolution, they were full of enthusiasm and firm faith, and all of them firmly linked their pursuits to the future of the motherland.

Dear students. A generation has a generation's mission, and a generation has a generation's long march. More than 100 years ago, for the sake of the new motherland of independence and self-reliance, for the faith in Changming's heart, the heroic martyrs who died nine times without remorse stood like an indestructible monument, we should not forget! Today, we shoulder the historical burden of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese dream of the nation, and when this burden is pressed on our shoulders, the years are quiet and the mountains and rivers are unharmed, but its weight is not half a point lighter than the mission of saving the country that weighed on the shoulders of our ancestors, and its glory is not inferior to the historical merits created by any generation of Chinese sons and daughters! I hope that everyone can vigorously carry forward the precious spirit represented by alumnus Li Da's "patriotic responsibility" and "upholding the truth", continue the red bloodline, establish the red ideal, regard struggle as the background and habit of youth, use the party and the motherland's course of endeavor and great achievements to inspire fighting spirit and guide the direction, use the glorious traditions and excellent work style of the school and the predecessors to strengthen faith, gather strength, constantly enlighten wisdom, improve character, carry forward the past, forge ahead in a pioneering spirit, and strive to grow into an era of heroes of the times who have both "feelings, emotional intelligence, and interest.". Grow into a socialist builder and successor with all-round development of morality, intellect, body, beauty and labor!

Believe in you and bless you!
