Located in Jingsheng Town, a Chinese historical and cultural town 12 kilometers east of Lingshi County, Shanxi Province, the Wang Family Compound was built by the Jingsheng Wang family through the Ming and Qing dynasties and more than 300 years, including five lanes and six forts, with a total area of 250,000 square meters, and is an architectural museum with traditional cultural characteristics. It is a national key cultural relics protection unit and a 4A-level scenic spot.

The amazing brick carving, wood carving, stone carving are rich in themes, skilled in techniques, and a large number of symbols, metaphors, harmonics, and even taboo art forms recognized by secular concepts are adopted; with the joint participation of literati, painters and carving artists, flowers, birds, fish and insects, mountain stone water boats, allusions and legends, opera characters are carved in bricks, or carved in stone, or skeletonized in wood, reflecting the style of architectural decoration in the Qing Dynasty, condensing Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism and traditional folk culture.
This visit to the Royal Family Compound, what made me feel most deeply was the harshness of the ancient hierarchical system, in the deep mansion compound, religious theory, rules and regulations, layers of insurmountable. I also lamented the previous skilled craftsmen, as well as the owner of the compound's pursuit of the details of life, and the countless carving techniques in the courtyard, all exquisite and exquisite.
