Sun Peizeng, a native of Zhucheng, Shandong, is currently a director of the Chinese Painting Society, a member of the China Artists Association, a member of the China Gongbi Painting Society, a director of the Chinese Painting Society (USA), a director of the Artists Association of the Central State Organs, a professor of the Oriental Culture Research Institute of the Central University for Nationalities, the director of the Innovation and Research Department of the National Academy of Ethnic Painting, and a teaching assistant in Liu Dawei's studio. He was awarded the honorary titles of "Twenty" and "Hundred Character Paintings" with the most academic value and collection potential from 2011 to 2012 by many authoritative institutions, media and galleries such as the China Collectors Association. More than 100 newspapers and magazines, such as "Fine Arts", "Chinese Painters", "China Painting and Calligraphy Newspaper", "Fine Arts Newspaper", "Xizhi Calligraphy and Painting Newspaper", have made special reports and promotions. Sun Peizeng is a painter who loves life, is intoxicated with art, works diligently and is full of creative vitality. Earlier, I saw his large-scale figure paintings at an exhibition of the National Academy of Painting, and some time ago someone sent him a number of painting collections that he had published, and I had a more comprehensive impression of his artistic appearance and active pursuit.
Painter Sun Peizeng has developed in Beijing over the years, he is a native of Zhucheng, Shandong, Zhucheng is a famous historical and cultural city, not spoken of in ancient times, since the Tang and Song dynasties celebrities have emerged. Su Shi, a great literary hero of the Song Dynasty, served as the Grand Punctual of Mizhou (Zhucheng belonged to Mizhou in the Song Dynasty), leaving immortal traces of poetry here, and also becoming the pride of Zhucheng's history, so the literary style here is extremely prosperous. It is in this local cultural background that the painter Sun Peizeng, with his heartfelt love for art and perseverance, has broadened his own path and gone further from Zhucheng to Beijing.
Sun Peizeng has been practicing art for many years, the painting path is very wide, the characters, landscapes, flowers are excellent, mainly characters, and all aspects of real life themes are involved, including rural life, the elderly, women and children, full of simple pastoral interest, including his costumed characters, but also still full of vivid emotions, reflecting the simple and optimistic spiritual vitality. Sun Peizeng's paintings originate from life, are close to life, and draw inspiration from the rural life he is familiar with, and the scenes of real life are so rich and diverse that the audience gets great pleasure and visual enjoyment. For example, in his depiction of the subject of ice fishing in the harsh winter of the north, he did not focus on the grand scene, but focused on the joy and pride of the fishermen, which was quite moving.
Sun Peizeng strives to paint freehand figures in ink, and is not afraid of difficulties to constantly explore and move forward, which is another aspect of my appreciation for him. Ink freehand figure art is the most important kind of Chinese painting tradition, ancient figure painting has accumulated a very rich valuable experience and precious heritage, since the 20th century, Chinese and Western cultural exchanges, the establishment of a new style of art education, the absorption of Western realistic figure techniques, including Xu (Beihong) Jiang (Zhaohe) system, Chinese the art of object painting has developed greatly, there have been many excellent figure painters and successful landmark works. It should be said that ink freehand figure painting is a kind of painting method with considerable difficulty, requiring painters to undergo strict training, not only to understand the natural physiological form of acquaintances, skeletal muscle anatomy, but also to be able to express people's psychological emotions in various states, mood and sorrow, in addition, freehand character painting has higher technical requirements, that is, the refinement of pen and ink performance, to write the line concise and expressive description of the object, in addition, the use of brush ink on raw rice paper to control the ability is also very difficult, It doesn't happen overnight. In recent years, among young and middle-aged painters, ink freehand figure painting has a tendency to trade with each other than Gongbi painting, in general, the reason is nothing more than that although the production of Gongbi heavy color painting is time-consuming, the success rate is relatively high compared to the raw Xuan ink, and the production of realistic and meticulous work will always let some of the judges of the exhibition open a side, which is forced by the pressure of life and the young painters who are eager to get ahead are helpless. On the other hand, after all, there will be people who are brave enough to climb without fear of difficulties and regardless of gains and losses, and invest heavily in ink freehand figure painting. Sun Peizeng is one of them.
Engaging in artistic activities, no matter how high or low their talents, must have a tireless spirit, the ancients said "perseverance, gold and stone can be skeletonized", the so-called "dripping water through the stone" kung fu, is this meaning. Sun Peizeng has made rapid progress in recent years, with pen and ink conveying god and full of spirit. Sun Peizeng is familiar with rural life and has deep feelings for ordinary people, and on his pictures, the characters are vivid and full of vitality. This is extremely rare for a painter. I saw his large-scale figure paintings not long ago, and I felt that the painter had a strong ability to control, and in many of his painting books, he insisted on sketching characters, and I also saw his enterprising spirit. I appreciated it.
