Read the starlight and moonlight of Higashiyama Island

Author: Zhu Huaxin

At 12 o'clock on August 16, Dongshan Island, Fujian Province, with a roar of "Open fishing!" "823 fishing boats set sail.

Whenever cultural people go to a place, they often leave unforgettable memories. For example, in 1925, Ai Wu ran away from home to escape arranged marriages, worked as a miscellaneous servant in Kunming, worked as a horse shop buddy in the Kachin Mountains of Burma, and spent time with horse herders, horse thieves and opium smugglers in the mountains of Southeast Asia. For example, in 1935, Fan Changjiang received a prepaid remuneration from the "Ta Kung Pao", set off from Shanghai, traced the Yangtze River upstream, passed through Sichuan Jiangyou, Pingwu, Songpan, Gansu Xigu, Minxian and other places, reached Lanzhou, then went west into Dunhuang, Yumen, Xining, north to Linhe, Wuyuan, and Baotou, wrote a series of travel newsletters, objectively reported the tracks of the Red Army's Long March to the Chinese for the first time, thought about the status of the northwest in the coming Sino-Japanese war, and then merged into the book "China's Northwest Corner".

In 2020, Wang Caiping, associate professor of the Central Party School, came from Beijing to Dongshan County, Zhangzhou, Fujian Province, to take up a post, and it was not surprising that he had a book of style literature at the end of the post. What is invaluable is that in the book "Sometimes Starlight, Sometimes Moonlight" published by the State Administration Publishing House, Wang Caiping, in addition to adopting the style and lyricism of the island with the attitude of a middle-aged literary friend, also made a down-to-earth assessment and reflection on the mass line, the policy of enriching the people, and the marine culture on this small island as a scholar of the party school, and wrote such a small place in a vertical and horizontal manner, and some of his views were sharp and constructive.

Gu Wenchang and the villagers: mutual liberation and protection

Gu Wenchang, secretary of the Dongshan County Party Committee, praised by General Secretary Xi Jinping, is already familiar with the system. Wang Caiping set foot on Dongshan Island and learned more about the best county party secretary since Jiao Yulu.

In June 1949, before the Kuomintang was defeated and retreated to Taiwan, the officer corps captured Zhuang Ding to replenish its troops, and captured 4,792 Zhuang Ding on Dongshan Island. Tongbao Village did not see cooking smoke for three days and became a widow's village. However, these tragic families were once regarded as "enemy and pseudo-family members" after liberation. Gu Wenchang, then director of the Organization Department of Dongshan County, found that such a group of people accounted for 1/3 of the total population of the county, and boldly characterized them as "families of military disasters" and belonged to war victims rather than political heresies. For the "returning fishermen" who were arrested by the Kuomintang and lived on the other side for a period of time and then were released, arrangements were made for the fishery brigade to come forward and receive them warmly, and it was strictly forbidden to force a confession. During the economic difficult period at the turn of the fifty or sixty years, the collective canteen was not enough to eat, the peasants suffered from edema, and some people went to the crops to steal sweet potatoes and peanuts, and after being caught, they were shown as thieves. Gu Wenchang ordered that members of the society should not be called thieves for taking some things from the public, called "greedy and cheap", and sent down lightly. In the era of the class struggle, such political characterization in the organization affected not only the treatment of the individual, but also the children's further education, the enlistment of soldiers, the transfer of peasants to non-occupation, the promotion of cadres and even marriage. Gu Wenchang, with the truth-seeking and responsibility of grassroots communists, has made so many Dongshan people look up and live in a dignified manner.

Gu Wenchang loves the people, and the masses of the people repay the favor. During the Cultural Revolution, Gu Wenchang, who had been transferred to the fujian provincial forestry department, was listed as a guerrilla fighter. The son went to Dongshan to call the police. The person in charge of the Dongshan County Revolutionary Committee made a clever move, issued a certificate, and sent someone to the province to "drag Gu Wenchang back to Dongshan to criticize the fight." At 11 o'clock in the evening, Gu Wenchang was escorted back to Dongshan and secretly arranged to live on the second floor in a family of overseas Chinese villagers in Qianhe Village. The stairs were removed the next day, and every day a thick rope hung down from the upper floor to pass on the food. The family didn't know who was upstairs, but only listened to the leader's advice: "This is a teaching gentleman, a good person with culture, and he must take good care of him." The two rebel factions in Dongshan County only reached a tacit understanding on the issue of Gu Wenchang and did not take excessive action against him.

Gu Wenchang used his own bumpy struggle to remind the communists of their original intention that party members and cadres and the masses of the people are fish and water relations, not water and fire relations, let alone fish and meat relations. It is said that in Dongshan today, "first worship the Duke of Gu, and then worship the ancestors". Writer Liang Xiaosheng sighed: In any case, I could not have imagined that in China, today, a communist party secretary, after his death, will actually be respected by the local people as "gong"!

Beware of the "Ming Dynasty Trap"

Wang Caiping wandered in Dongshan Bay, looking back at the "Battle of Zoumaxi" in history with a cold gaze. During the Ming Dynasty, maritime trade became the way for southeast coastal residents to survive. In accordance with the instructions of the Jiajing Emperor to resist the Wu, strict sea prohibitions were imposed, ferries were abolished, and armor was strictly protected. In 1549 (the twenty-eighth year of Jiajing), The Governor of Zhejiang, Zhu Feng, launched the Battle of Zoumaxi at Dongshan Bay, and the Ming army defeated Portugal, and its sea power was completely eliminated from Fujian and Zhejiang. Our army has captured Shuangyu Island, which is occupied by Chinese and foreign maritime merchants, and "gathered piles to quarry and fill the port of Shuangyu", destroying the most prosperous "international free trade center" in the Far East. Incredibly, after the battle, tens of thousands of local people gathered on the beach to express their dissatisfaction with the imperial court's ban on maritime trade.

Wang Caiping noted that the centuries-long period from 1400 to 1800 was a single world system centered around Asia and China, and Europe was on the fringes of this system for a long time. At that time, china, the world's largest economy, always maintained a surplus in international trade. The Ming Dynasty was the beginning of the world's maritime era, when both the Chinese government and non-governmental maritime forces were the world's first. If Zheng He's "going to the West" represents government power, the "rampant" maritime activities along the southeast coast reflect civil forces. However, as people later saw, just because of the ideology of the imperial court and some vested interests, China "blockaded" itself for hundreds of years and became an authentic land-based state. "What is even worse is that after 300 years of closing the country, in the direction of the ocean, the Western powers that have risen by the benefits of the sea have opened the door of the country and opened the history of shame that the modern Chinese people are extremely sad and indignant."

Let the "children of the stars" see the sea

In Maluan Bay, Dongshan, the National Sailing And Windsurfing Training Base. There's a "star sailing team" here, and let the autistic children be their own captains and sailrs.

Children with autism, known as "children of the stars," wander outside of real life like stars in the sky. Some of these children have some amazing "isolation skills" in mechanically remembering numbers, routes, license plates, years, etc. For example, in the movie "Rain Man", Raymond's mental arithmetic speed is not inferior to that of the computer, and he can instantly count the 246 toothpicks that fell on the floor of the restaurant. A child in Dongshan who couldn't even speak, the piano passed the tenth grade. However, the reality is also harsh. Studies have shown that only 2.7% of children with autism have an IQ of more than 115 (the average human range of 85-110), and most of the rest are below 70 points. Not only is he not a genius, but he also has birth defects in psychological and physical aspects, is unable to live independently, cannot integrate into society, and needs to be cared for by his parents for a lifetime. What if the parents are gone?

Li Yong, a native of Dongshan, is a member of the Fujian Provincial Sailing and Windsurfing Team and has won the National Sailing and Windsurfing Championships. After retiring from the army, the "Very Caring" fund was established to prepare a path to the sea for children with autism. Saturday was a good day to make money, but Li Yong arranged for the children to sail on this day. For example, Xiong Xin, his father is a pilot, and his mother is a ground handling translator. Before going to sea in Maluan Bay, he immersed himself in his own world, bowed his head, and his left leg was hanging on the arm of the chair, looking like he didn't care about others. When the boat was driven out, along with Li Yong's gesture, Xiong Xin skillfully fiddled with those ropes, not at all wooden, let alone lonely. "For a moment, I was a little silly and unclear: whether it was the vast sea that awakened his long-sleeping memories, or the true feelings of the world that inspired his ingenious nature?"

Wang Caiping was relieved to see that in their lifelong loneliness, there was a road open for them. Along this path, they walked toward the sailboat, toward the sea, toward a different state of destiny. Facing the sea, spring blossoms.

The most valuable thing in the system is sincerity

Dongshan Island is actually a sample of China's economic development and political changes over the decades. Here the mountains and rivers are beautiful and colorful, the people are kind and diligent, the officials are close to the people, and the cadres on temporary duty can find a test field for interpreting the national conditions and public opinion and innovating in social governance here.

After graduation, Dr. Wang Caiping entered the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (National Academy of Administration), engaged in emergency management training for leading cadres for a long time, helped guide leading cadres how to communicate with the media and the public, and published "Speaking - Pocket Book of Public Communication". In Wang Caiping's view, the first meaning of "speaking" in the system is sincerity. Have an empathy, empathize, compare your heart to your heart, put yourself in your shoes, and feel empathy. In this new work of "Sometimes Starlight, Sometimes Moonlight", the first feeling given to readers is also sincerity.

As Lin Yamin, secretary of the party branch of Aojiao Village, who resisted pressure at the end of the "Cultural Revolution" and refused to confiscate bamboo rows from fishermen fishing for a living, said: "There is no way out for life, this is not the party's policy." Since I am the secretary, I am responsible for this village! "The success of our revolution is to enable the common people to live a good life; this is the foundation of the founding of the party, and it is not possible to lack food and clothing like this."

At the meeting to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed that "jiangshan is the people, the people are the jiangshan, and fighting the jiangshan and guarding the jiangshan is the people's heart." The starlight and moonlight of Dongshan Island, the ardent expectations of the people of Dongshan, and the conscience of The cadres of Dongshan are actually the practice of the general secretary's entrustment, always regard the people as the "source" and "source", and are the moral source that nourishes the communists' inner sense of justice and responsibility.
