When it comes to the topic of watching the autumn leaves, everyone will think of the beautiful scenery on Siming Mountain. Siming Mountain is naturally a very classic place to enjoy leaves, but there is a special place in Ningbo that is easy to be overlooked, that is, the Xiangshan Peninsula, which is known as the "Sea Fairy Country".
Although the mountains of Xiangshan are not very high, the original ecology of Xiangshan is ranked high in the city. The reason is that Xiangshan has a large area of marine resources, and people's dependence on mountain forests is very low, which directly leads to the surprisingly good ecological status of Xiangshan.
Recently, I made a special trip to Elephant Mountain to find a viewing spot for autumn leaves. I took the Maoyang exit of the Yongguan Expressway and drove along the Sichang Line in the direction of the Dalingyan Scenic Area, and found that the autumn leaves here have their own characteristics.
Seaside hibiscus is a rare shrub species that is extremely salt-tolerant and grows only in the intertidal zone of the coast under natural conditions. There are not many spots in Ningbo at present, and in 2016 I found the largest wild coastal hibiscus community in China on the shore of Xinqiao Town across the sea. This time in Sizhoutou Town on the seashore found a band distribution of wild coastal hibiscus community, the number of populations of more than 100 plants, because the main task is to find red leaves, no in-depth investigation, it is estimated that there are more natural distribution of seaside hibiscus in this area.
Seaside hibiscus is a famous ornamental tree species with autumn leaves, which has been widely used in landscaping, and there are also small batches of introduction and cultivation in Yinzhou Park, most of which are planted in the saline alkali land along the coast. The leaves of the seaside hibiscus are now beginning to turn yellow and red, and the red leaves are very bright, and the overall ornamental effect is better than when the yellow flowers bloom in summer and autumn. Such a landscape cannot be seen without the seashore.
The seaside environment is naturally different from the deep mountains, such as the long-leaf frozen green of the Lycaenidae family, which is very rare in the mountains, and its gorgeous red leaves can always be seen in the coastal bushes, which is eye-catching. The coastal vine is a variant of the vine that grows only on the seashore, at which point the leaves also begin to turn orange-yellow.
Hangzizi is a shrub species of legume, mostly found in the seaside environment, yellow before the leaves fall, although the volume is not large, the composition of the three-leaf compound leaves makes it appear more delicate and cute.
In the seaside, euphorbia are particularly common, when the leaves have been generally yellowed, and the yellowing tree species include the celestial fruit of the mulberry family, the neem of the neem family, and the tsubaki of the russet family are also representatives of the yellow deciduous species.
The red type also includes the abacus of the Euphorbiaceae family, the climbing tiger of the grape family, the elm of the Elm family, etc., and the red leaves of the salt-skinned wood will also be mixed with yellow veins, which appear to be rich in layers, and the red-colored salt-skinned wood leaves are as if they have been painted with red paint. The red leaves of the russet tree are somewhat similar to those of wild lacquer trees, except that the pinnate compound leaves of the latter are alternate, and the former is a compound leaf.
In short, many of the native vegetation of the seaside are discolored tree species, and the colors are rich and diverse. Finally, I came to the Chekeng Reservoir in Maao Village, south of Dalingyan, where there is an evergreen deciduous broad-leaved mixed forest in the valley, which is intoxicating when the autumn leaves are red.
I think the autumn scenery here can be regarded as a highlight of the autumn foliage landscape of Xiangshan Mountain. There is a large area of maple forest in the Dalingyan Scenic Area, which has not yet reached its peak, and it is estimated that next week will be the most brilliant time.
Enjoying the autumn leaves on the beach can also see the scenery of the sea, which can be described as killing two birds with one stone, and I think no matter how I introduce it, it is always better than going around and looking around in person.
