The Korean-Thai co-production movie "Psychic Medium" recently exploded, after watching it, I suddenly remembered that there are many Sino-Thai co-production horror films that are excellent, and today I will recommend a few to everyone, although they are old films, but they are very classic, and they will never lose to it in terms of plot and other aspects. Spoilers, don't like it!
1. "The Homecoming of the Three Changes" - 2002
The "Three More" series of trilogies is a horror film directed by directors from China, South Korea and Thailand, and today we will only talk about the last story, "Three More Homecoming" directed by Chen Kexin and starring Zeng Zhiwei, which is a thriller movie that can make you cry.
The film tells the story of an old police officer who moves his son to an abandoned building, and the neighbor is only the mysterious Mr. Yu's family. Because his son disappeared for no reason, the old police officer went to Mr. Yu's house to investigate, and found that he was bathing his deceased wife, and the old police officer was knocked unconscious and imprisoned.
When I woke up again, I learned that Mr. Yu and his wife were originally Chinese medicine practitioners, and the wife who was pregnant three years ago had cancer and had to beat up the child, and then Mr. Yu strangled her, because he thought that every day he talked to his wife and used Chinese medicine to bathe and massage her, and the soul left in the body would wake up. Now there are only three days left, and in order to prevent the destruction of the old police officer, he can only be tied up in the house, and the old police officer only thinks that he is a madman.
On the last day, Mr. Yu freshened up his wife and waited for her to wake up, but the old police colleague came to the door and directly arrested him. But when he saw his wife being carried away, he still chased after her unwillingly, but was accidentally hit by a car and killed. The couple lay side by side in the mortuary, the wife's fingers moved, and a tear flowed out, but no one knew.
The forensic doctor later told the old police officer that his wife, who had been dead for three years, still had elastic skin and nail hair. The old policeman wanted to find out the truth, and learned from the video tape left by his wife that mr. Yu had cancer six years ago, and his wife strangled him and took care of him for three years, and the result was that he really woke up and fully recovered. In the end, the family of three was finally reunited in the photo studio.
This classic wraps a warm and emotional love story under the cloak of horror films, and can become the best in your heart without relying on horror shots and sound effects. Very recommended and worth a look!
2. Man-Eater – 2004
"Man-Eating Man" is a Sino-Thai co-production, starring Duan Yihong is a film adapted from real people and real events, sometimes horror films really make people's backs chill is the real thing adaptation, have to praise Duan Yihong's superb acting skills, it is said that he was once thin and depressed when filming this film, and then changed the current name because of the guidance of the high people.
The film tells the story of after the end of World War II, Xiao Wei, who had been a soldier, came to Thailand alone and wanted to start a new life, but it backfired, he has been engaged in the lowest level of work, and he has often been humiliated and wronged, living an extremely hard life, and his health has become worse and worse since he was a child. In this extreme environment, his psychology gradually twisted, and when he had no money to buy medicine, he grabbed children one after another and used their hearts to boil water as medicine to drink, and eventually he was arrested and sentenced to death. His prototype was made into a dry corpse after his death and placed in museums for decades.
This is a very depressing thriller, which nakedly shows how Xiao Wei went from a simple and kind honest person to a breathless oppression by life, and gradually went to the path of killing demons. After reading it, there is always a sense of depression that is difficult to let go.
3. "See the Ghost" - 2002
"See the Ghost" is a classic horror film directed by the Peng brothers released in 2002, and it is also the famous work of "Ghost Queen" Li Xinjie.
The film tells the story of the heroine who has been blind since childhood and finally waited for the opportunity to transplant the cornea, and her biggest wish since she was a child is to see the world with her own eyes. Unexpectedly, after the surgery was restored, she could often see things that ordinary people could not see, and her life was completely disrupted.
In order to find the truth, the heroine decided to rush to Thailand to learn about the life of the owner of the cornea. It turned out that the owner of the cornea was a person with special functions since childhood, she could see what would happen in the future in advance, she had a premonition that a fire would engulf the entire village, but she was powerless to save everyone, and she chose to commit suicide in deep self-blame.
And the heroine now also has this special ability, on the return bus she has a premonition that the tanker truck is about to explode, excitedly ran out of the car to let everyone leave quickly, but others only regard her as a madman. At this time, the explosion occurred, and the heroine was also injured by the scattered glass shards and her eyes were blind again.
Personally, I think it is a very touching story, especially what the heroine said at the end, which I remember for many years.
4. "See the Ghost 2" - 2004
This is the second part of the "See the Ghost" series, also directed by the Peng brothers, starring Shu Qi, there are rumors that there were also supernatural events in the crew during filming, and Shu Qi found exactly the same when he came to see it after seven consecutive crying scenes. Tips: Pregnant women watch with caution!
The film tells the story of the heroine who woke up after attempting suicide in love but found herself pregnant, and under the double surprise of being close to death and being a new mother, she had "yin and yang eyes", and she has been living in fear ever since. Then it was found that all women from pregnancy would be accompanied by a ghost ready to reincarnate, and she also figured out that the one who followed her was actually the wife of the child's father.
At this point, the heroine found that she was xiao san, and the reason why the man left her was because her wife chose to commit suicide in the case of seeking perfection and being intolerable. The heroine who learned everything could not accept this reality and jumped off the building one after another, but she was saved by her wife, and finally she successfully gave birth to a baby girl, and she was accustomed to having a "yin and yang eye" life, everything was just an arrangement of fate.
The film does not have bloody and terrifying scenes, but the theme of pregnant women still makes people feel very "heavy taste".
5. "See the Ghost 10" - 2005
Seeing Ghosts 10 is the last in a series directed by the Pang brothers, which tells the story of a game circulating in Thailand that records ten ways to see ghosts. A few young people, led by thai friends, played the game, but they didn't know that it was a game that could not be completed on their own once it was turned on.
This movie is also very popular at that time, because its mention of the Ten Ways to See Ghosts is very eye-catching, personal feeling is not much horror, but the main idea is very good, the ending is also more touching, and there are also some funny elements.
In fact, some of the old horror films in China, especially Hong Kong, are very classic, will be recommended to everyone one by one, the above is the content shared in this issue, only represents personal views, do not like to spray, we will see you in the next issue!
