The big guitar that became popular because of the movie "Sewing Machine Band" was reunited with citizens and tourists at the Ji'an Guitar Theme Square in Jilin on September 10. The movie "Sewing Machine Band" is a comedy film directed and starring Ji'an director Dapeng (Dong Chengpeng), which tells the story of the protagonist Hu Liang's hometown of Ji'an, and several small people form a different rock band in order to pursue their common musical dreams.
Most of the film's plot was filmed in Ji'an and was released on September 29, 2017. After the film was released, it greatly increased the popularity of Ji'an, and a large guitar sculpture appearing in the play became the memory of countless audiences and became a symbolic building of Ji'an in their hearts. However, due to the needs of the plot, the sculpture has been demolished during the filming process, and many tourists who visit Ji'an are deeply sorry.
In 2021, construction began on the reconstruction of this iconic grand guitar sculpture. The reconstructed guitar sculpture is 19.1 meters high, 1.6 meters wide and 6.8 meters long, and supporting the construction of a tempered laminated glass stage and lighting and greening projects. On the evening of September 10, Dapeng and the second-hand rose band attended the inauguration ceremony. After the cultural performance, a light show was held, and the natural landscape, humanistic history, and film fragments of "Sewing Machine Band" of Ji'an were presented on the façade of the sculpture by means of sound and light. After the performance, Dapeng posted a Weibo post and @ Zhao Yingjun, while expressing his thoughts to his deceased friends, he also wanted to share the joy of guitar reconstruction with Zhao Yingjun.
Musician Zhao Yingjun died of illness on February 3 this year, at the age of 43. The most famous promotional song in the movie "Sewing Machine Band" "Du Xuan C" is written by Zhao Yingjun, and the interlude "Plastic Bag" and "Song Written by Ding Jianguo" are also the "gifts" given by Zhao Yingjun as a friend for Dapeng's transformation from actor to director. In "Sewing Machine Band", Zhao Yingjun also had a wonderful performance. The big guitar has a special meaning for many of the actors in this film.
