It is reported that the trapped two are self-driving tourists, they drove alone to the Hala Lake Scenic Area to play, due to unfamiliarity with the road conditions, in order to avoid the rough road, the vehicle mistakenly drove into the no man's land swamp, resulting in the vehicle into the mud, can not get out of the trap, can only stay in place to save themselves. After the two were trapped for 50 hours without any hope of self-help, they chose to call the police for help.

The command center of the Haixi Prefecture Fire Rescue Detachment immediately dispatched the Delingha City Fire Rescue Brigade to form a joint rescue team with the public security, emergency, forest and grass, and civil rescue teams to rush to the rescue.

Because the trapped site is located in no man's land, the communication network signal is extremely poor, and the rescuer and the alarm person are once missing. In addition, the environment in the plateau area is harsh, and the local area is mostly swampy wetlands, and the rescue vehicles have repeatedly fallen into the quagmire during the process, resulting in a difficult search and rescue work. During this period, when the rescue team was crossing a river, a rescue vehicle was trapped in the middle of the river, and after 1 hour of rescue, the trapped vehicle was towed away to the shore.

Rescuers used satellite phones to get in touch with the trapped people, and after repeated communication, it was determined that the location of the trapped people was roughly at the foot of Tuanjie Peak Mountain in Hala Lake.

At 11:56 on June 24, rescuers and the police got in touch again, and after repeated communication, the exact location of the trapped people was finally determined. After 7 hours of searching, a white tent was finally found at the top of a hill.

As the local river swamps were rife, the site commander ordered a trekking search. At 6:10 p.m. that day, two trapped people were found in a self-rescue tent. After examination, the two were in good physical condition, while the rescuers were exhausted and breathless.

Rescuers then rescued the vehicles trapped in the mire, and half an hour later, the trapped vehicles were successfully towed away from the swamp area.

At about 6:00 a.m. on June 25, after 38 hours of hard search and rescue, rescuers finally successfully escorted the trapped tourists to safety. After being trapped for 88 hours, the two trapped tourists drove away on their own.
