Not long ago, I received "Mr. Lai Xinxia in Nankai" sent by teacher Jiao Jingyi.
Although Mr. Xinxia has attended the annual reading meeting, he has also had contacts with many reading and folk periodicals. I have no direct contact with Mr. Lai. He is only one of mr. Lai's many readers, and has written several articles in newspapers and periodicals.
In recent years, Teacher Jing Yi has successively sorted out and edited Mr. Lai's works, and at the same time has time to participate in the annual reading meeting and communicate with book lovers. Such an atmosphere is touching.
Edited by Ke Ping, Zhang Lanpu, Hao Ruifang and Jiao Jingyi, Nankai University Press, March 2019 edition, is one of the history books of Nankai University.
In the foreword, the editor says:
A famous university, when her historical footsteps have reached a hundred years, the most glorious thing is that in addition to how many outstanding talents with both ability and political integrity she has cultivated for the society, how many outstanding scientific achievements she has contributed to mankind, and how deep and unique cultural charm rooted in the academic garden, what is more worthy of admiration are those famous teachers and scholars and outstanding educational administrators who have made selfless dedication to carefully cultivating talents, devoting themselves to scientific research and creating an academic and educational environment. Mr. Lai Xinxia is such a person who has been recorded in the history of Nankai for a hundred years.
This is also the origin of the publication of "Mr. Lai Xinxia in Nankai".
The book is divided into nankai years, Mr. Lai and Nankai History, Mr. Lai and Nankai University Branch, Mr. Lai and Nankai University Library Education, Mr. Lai and Nankai University Library, Mr. Lai and Nankai University Press, Mr. Lai and Nankai University Press, Mr. Lai and Nankai University Local Literature Research Office, Mr. Lai Xinxia and talent training and other parts. In addition to the last part, the previous part has a related thematic discussion, which is divided into reminiscences of the year, literature preservation and other contents.
In addition, at the end of the book, there is also an appendix to the "Self-defined Academic Genealogy of Tsutomu Tsutomu", which allows us to see Mr. Lai's life as an academic.
Obviously, reading this book will understand Mr. Lai Xinxia's work at Nankai University, especially the exploration of the academic field, which is more worthy of our attention and study.
I'm not sure if Sichuan University has ever edited some books about "famous teachers and scholars" or "outstanding educational administrators" who teach at Sichuan University. In fact, to sort out the history of the school, there should be a more open and inclusive vision. The work of the "famous teachers and scholars" can be regarded as an important part of the school's history to some extent. There are only high-rise buildings and beautiful campuses, and the lack of such historical records is undoubtedly disrespectful to the history of the school. From this point of view, such a series of books is meaningful and valuable.
