Every year on September 5th is Teachers' Day in India. It was the birthday of former Indian President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was himself an educator.
In 1962, when Radaklishannan was elected India's second president, some of his students and friends asked him to agree to a celebration on September 5, his birthday. Radakrinan replied: "Instead of celebrating my birthday alone, let me have the honor of making September 5 a day for the majority of teachers." Thus, Teachers' Day in India was born.
“ "Teachers Should Be the Best Minds in the Country"
——Radhakrishnan
”
Like the Chinese tradition, India has a tradition of respecting teachers and valuing them, who are seen as the embodiment of wisdom, knowledge and insight, and enjoy high social prestige and social status. In life, the old people of India often tell children that the kindness of teachers is second only to that of parents, and in Indian tradition, teachers are even worshipped as gods, believing that teachers are the embodiment of the Creator.
In India, Teachers' Day is not called a holiday but a day of celebration. Teachers and students arrived at the school as usual, but the school's teaching work was replaced by celebrations such as thanks and greeting cards. On this day, in order to show respect for the teachers, some schools have the teaching tasks packaged by the students of the senior grades, who give lessons to the students of the lower grades and experience the hard work and greatness of the teachers' work. The school will also rate these students based on their performance and select the best student "teacher".

Chinese Teachers' Day
Laozi, (600 BC - 470 BC later) surname Li Ming'er, the character Boyang, legend has it that Lao Tzu was born with white eyebrows and beard, so it was called LaoZi by posterity. A Chinese thinker of the Spring and Autumn Period, a native of Qurenli in Lixiang, Ku County, Chu, was a great philosopher and thinker and founder of the Taoist school in ancient China. He was named Taishang Laojun by Emperor Wu of the Tang Dynasty, a world cultural celebrity, one of the world's hundred historical celebrities, and the Tao Te Ching (also known as Lao Tzu) survived. The essence of his works is the simple dialectic, which advocates the rule of inaction, and his doctrine has a profound impact on the development of Chinese philosophy.
In Taoism, Lao Tzu is the eighteenth incarnation of Taishang Laojun, one of the three gods of the Qing Dynasty, and is revered as the Daozu.
The ancient scholar must have a teacher. Teachers, so preaching is also karmic to solve puzzles. Whoever is not born to know can be confused? If you are confused and do not follow the teacher, you will be confused and will not be solved in the end. Teacher's Day in ancient times had a great relationship with Confucius. During the Han and Jin dynasties, every time on the birthday of Confucius (August 27 of the lunar calendar), the emperor would lead civil and military officials to worship the Temple of Confucius and invite teachers to eat, although Confucius's birthday was not established as Teachers' Day, but teachers had begun to enjoy welfare benefits such as holidays and meals.
In ancient times, Confucius was revered as "the saint of heaven" and "the wooden priest of heaven", and was one of the most erudite scholars in society at that time, and was respected by later rulers as a sage of Kong and a master of all generations. Confucius was known for his eagerness to learn and showed a keen interest in all kinds of knowledge, so he was versatile and knowledgeable, and at that time he was famous, almost as an omniscient saint, but Confucius himself did not think so, Confucius said: "If it is holy and benevolent, then how dare I?" Or tireless, tireless. Confucius learned impermanent teachers, whoever has knowledge, who has something he does not know, he worships whomever he is a teacher, so he says, "In the threesome, there will be my teacher, and I will choose what is good and follow it, and change it from the bad." ”
Confucius greeted Lao Tzu - Confucius also humbly studied!
On September 10, 1985, 32 years ago, the teachers of new China ushered in their first Teachers' Day. Since then, the annual Teacher's Day has become a major event in people's lives, and respecting teachers and re-teaching has become a virtue. In a way, China's Teachers' Day has a history of more than 2,000 years.
