Although Elizabeth Taylor walked the red carpet 8 times, she wore a so-called "traditional" wedding dress only once. Taylor's first wedding was in 1950 with Conrad" Conrad "Nicky" Hilton was held when the actor was the darling of showbiz.

Just two years later, Taylor abandoned the wedding to marry her next husband, Michael Wilding. She was dressed in a neat dress set and held a bouquet of sweet flowers in her hand. However, in her third marriage to Mike Todd, Taylor showed her theatrical diva style, which also became her legacy. After marrying in Acapulco, Mexico, she wore a white silk chiffon dress that accentuated her slender waist and was paired with a more modern bridal veil, a charming hood.

That was also the last time she wore a white wedding dress at a wedding. In the five weddings that followed, the Oscar winner chose an ever-changing color palette and followed the most attractive fashion silhouettes of the time. Check out her adventures below the bridal wardrobe.

It was auctioned off in 2013 for £122,000.

Elizabeth, 24, and her third husband, Mike Todd, had a small wedding at city hall in Acapulco, Mexico. On this occasion, the bride wears a white silk chiffon dress with a striking headscarf. However, pièce de résistance is her ancestral green cut diamond engagement ring, which she affectionately calls her "ice rink" because of its exquisite size and carat (29.4 carats, which is a huge diamond). The bridesmaid of the day was her best friend, Debbie Reynolds, who attended the wedding with her husband, Elizabeth's future spouse, the groom's best friend, Eddie Fisher. In March 1958, Todd was killed in a plane crash, and the marriage ended in tragedy.

In the spring of 1964, Taylor married his cleopatra partner Richard Burton in Montreal. The actor once again subverted wedding traditions by opting for a knee-length, chrysanthemum-toned imperial dress designed by Cleopatra's costume designer Irene Sharaf, and elaborately designed Alexandre de Paris's ponytail, which is embellished with orange flowers. The couple hadn't yet chosen an engagement ring, so Taylor wore a Bulgari brooch that Burton had given her.
