What are the types of organic pollution of groundwater?

author:Nine factions view the world

Common organic pollutants in groundwater include benzene (aromatic hydrocarbons), halogenated hydrocarbons, organic pesticides, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and phthalates, and the number and types are still increasing rapidly.

Organic pollutants are divided into two categories, namely, biodegradable organic pollutants and biodegradable organic pollutants (or persistent organic pollutants) according to whether they are easily decomposed by microorganisms. According to the volatile nature of organic matter, groundwater organic pollutants are divided into volatile organic pollutants and semi-volatile organic pollutants. Common volatiles mainly include benzene (benzene, toluene, xylene, etc.), saturated or unsaturated halogenated organic compounds (trichloroethylene, trichloromethane, trichloroethane), etc.; semi-volatile organic pollutants in groundwater mainly include organophosphorus pesticides, organochlorine pesticides, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls, etc.
