Quanzhou Network, March 18 (Reporter Wu Congwei) The 2021 National Kayak Slalom Spring Championship and the 14th National Games Qualification Tournament (the second stop) will be held from March 19 to 21 at the Nan'an Fujian Provincial Canoe Slalom Base.
This is the second time that the National Kayak Slalom Race has been held in Nan'an, the 2020 National Kayak Slalom Autumn Championship and National Youth Championship, and the National U Series Competition were held in Nan'an Fujian Province Kayak Slalom Base in November last year.
The Fujian Kayak Slalom Training Base in Meishan Town, Nan'an City, was completed in August 2017 with two tracks. The main track is 300 meters long and has a drop of 4.5 meters; the secondary track is 220 meters, with a drop of 3.5 meters, which is diverted in the natural river channel, the cost of use is low, and the obstacles can be moved and removed. The main track is suitable for adult athletes to train and race, and the secondary track is suitable for young athletes to train and compete.
It is reported that the 2021 National Canoe Slalom Spring Championship and the 14th National Games Qualification Tournament (the second stop), hosted by the Chinese CanoeIng Association and the Fujian Provincial Sports Bureau, hosted by the Fujian Provincial Kayaking Sports Management Center, Quanzhou Municipal Sports Bureau and Nan'an Municipal People's Government, a total of 180 athletes from Fujian, Guangdong, Sichuan and other 12 provinces and cities participated. There are six events in the competition: men's single rowing, women's single rowing, men's single kayak, women's single kayak, men's extreme rapids, and women's extreme rapids, with a total of 228 boats registered for the competition. Among them, the two events of men's extreme rapids and women's extreme rapids are new events in the Paris Olympic Games, and they are also the first time to appear on the field of the National Games.
The 14th National Games Kayak Slalom Qualification Tournament (the first stop) was held in Guangzhou last month. According to the rules of the preliminary round of the 14th National Games, 60% of the boats in the final stage will be admitted to the first race, while the second qualifier in Nan'an, Quanzhou in March will admit 40% of the boat qualifications.
