For more than 50 years, the spiritual inheritance of Lei Feng has been endless, and advanced figures and collectives of Lei Feng style have emerged continuously. The spirit of Lei Feng has surpassed Lei Feng personally and become an important spiritual dimension of contemporary Chinese, an important content and a significant symbol of the Spirit of the Chinese nation, and an important part of the spiritual genealogy of Chinese Communists.

The background of the times in which the Lei Feng spirit was formed

Lei Feng, formerly known as Lei Zhengxing, was born on December 18, 1940 to a poor peasant family in Wangcheng County, Hunan Province (now Wangcheng District, Changsha). In the old society, Lei Feng's family lived a miserable life, in just 4 years, Lei Feng's grandfather, father, brother, brother and mother died one after another, and Lei Feng, who was less than 7 years old, became an orphan.

After the founding of New China, Lei Feng gained a new life. Under the care and cultivation of the party and the people, Lei Feng has gradually grown into a promising young man with knowledge, consciousness, ideals, and positive progress. He worked actively, and was repeatedly rated as a "red flag bearer," "model worker," "advanced producer," and "activist in socialist construction." He was awarded the second class merit once and the third class merit twice, and became a heroic model hanging like the whole army.

Lei Feng deeply realized that if we want to grow and progress and do more work for the party, we must conscientiously read Chairman Mao's books. The study of Mao Zedong Thought has had an important impact on Lei Feng's personal growth and development, and Mao Zedong Thought has become the positive spiritual driving force for Lei Feng. In the process of growing up, Lei Feng was subtly educated and influenced by the fine traditions of the Communist Party of China and the revolutionary spirit, and in his diary, the deeds of Fang Zhimin, Bethune, Zhang Side, Liu Hulan, Dong Cunrui, Huang Jiguang, Qiu Shaoyun, Zhi Shunyi, Shi Chuanxiang, Meng Tai, Wang Chonglun and other revolutionary martyrs and models of the times appeared. He always adhered to the conviction that the revolution would triumph, maintained a strong revolutionary fighting spirit, and firmly established the ambition of fighting for the cause of the party and the people all his life.

On November 26, 1960, the front page of the Forward Newspaper published a lengthy newsletter entitled "Chairman Mao's Good Soldier" and an editorial entitled "Don't Forget the Past, Anger and Strive to Be Strong." On December 1, 1960, the "Forward Daily" published a full-page excerpt of Comrade Lei Feng's diary under the title of "Listening to the Party's Words and Dedicating Youth to the Motherland", which set off an upsurge of learning lei Feng's advanced deeds in the former Shenyang Military Region.

Sadly, on August 15, 1962, Lei Feng unfortunately died in the line of duty. On March 5, 1963, the People's Daily published An inscription written by Comrade Mao Zedong, calling on the people of the whole country to "learn from Comrade Lei Feng."

Under the guidance of the lei feng spiritual banner, tens of millions of "lei feng" are growing, and countless lei feng-style heroes and advanced collectives have emerged on all fronts across the country. With their own words and deeds, they practice and carry forward the spirit of Lei Feng and promote the continuous development of the socialist cause.

The profound connotation of Lei Feng's spirit

The energy of faith. Strengthening the lofty ideal of communism and the common ideal of socialism with Chinese characteristics are the spiritual motive force and source of strength for realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Having personally experienced the strong contrast between the old and the new society, Lei Feng established the lofty ideal and firm belief of loving the party, the motherland, and socialism. Lei Feng turned his loyalty to the party, his ardent enthusiasm for the motherland, and his sincere belief in communism into a driving force for forging ahead, established the ideal and belief of fighting for communism all his life, composed a magnificent hymn of taking the country as his home and being loyal and dedicated, and interpreted the "energy of faith" with practical actions.

A big loving bosom. The masses of the people are the creators of history and the fundamental force that promotes historical change. Realizing communism is the highest goal and ideal of Chinese communists and conforms to the fundamental interests of the broadest masses of the people. In his study and work, Lei Feng knows very well that strength comes from the masses, wisdom comes from the masses, and the masses are the real heroes. Lei Feng wrote in his diary on April 16, 1961: "I am determined to stand firmly with the masses forever and fight for the best and happiest life of mankind. Later, he wrote in his diary on October 20, 1961: "Human life is limited, but serving the people is unlimited, and I want to devote my limited life to infinite service to the people..." These all reflect Lei Feng's dedication to serving the people and helping others.

The spirit of selflessness. Lei Feng turned his boundless love for the party, the country, and socialism into the driving force and enthusiasm for selfless work; he consciously linked his personal destiny with the cause of the party and the people, and integrated his personal struggle into the historical torrent of national prosperity and national rejuvenation, just like a "screw.", where it is screwed, it shines wherever it is screwed. In his work, Lei Feng is loyal to his duties, strives for excellence, and insists on "treating work as hot as summer". He brilliantly accomplished all the work entrusted by the party and the people with the spirit of dedication and dedication to the work of loving one line of work and one line of dedication. Although it is a small "screw", Lei Feng uses the "spirit of selflessness" to write a capital "I".

Enterprising spirit. Lei Feng wrote in his diary on March 4, 1962: "I would like to be a pine of high mountains and rocks, not a willow by the riverbank." I would like to exercise myself in the storm, in the hard struggle, and I do not want to spend my life in a calm day. This is Lei Feng's self-made Zhengzheng oath. Faced with the choice of life after graduating from high school, Lei Feng resolutely chose to work in the difficult countryside; he left the comfortable county party committee to participate in the arduous anti-disaster project and the construction of tuanshan Lake Farm; left Angang steel to participate in the expansion and construction of the coking plant located in the ravine. In the face of difficulties, Lei Feng always faces difficulties, always carries forward the fine work style of our party and the people's army, sharpens his will in the face of adversity, sharpens his character, and embodies the innovative spirit of forging ahead and making unremitting efforts to improve himself and the entrepreneurial spirit of hard struggle, diligence and thrift.

The spirit of Lei Feng is eternal

Since the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has repeatedly advocated the study of the spirit of Lei Feng. General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed: "China's working class should set an example for the whole society to learn from Lei Feng and build a new wind, so that learning from Lei Feng spirit will become a common practice in the motherland." "Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era, and vigorously carrying forward and inheriting the spirit of Lei Feng is of great practical significance for cultivating a virtuous personality, strengthening ideals and beliefs, practicing the mass line, and strengthening party building."

Carry forward the spirit of Lei Feng and cultivate noble personality. Lei Feng can be called a model of noble personality in dealing with the relationship between the individual and others, with the collective, and with society. In handling the relationship between individuals and others, Lei Feng insists on helping others for pleasure and refraining from self-denial; in handling the relationship between individuals and collectives, Lei Feng adheres to collectivism and forgets selfishness; in handling the relationship between individuals and society, Lei Feng insists on serving the people and putting the people first. Lei Feng has set a benchmark for people to improve their moral realm in terms of social morality, professional ethics, family virtues and personal morality.

Carry forward the spirit of Lei Feng and strengthen ideals and beliefs. We must illuminate the way forward for national rejuvenation with the light of ideals and inspire the high morale of national rejuvenation with the power of faith. To realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, we must, like Lei Feng, put our ideals and beliefs into our hearts, and use the spirit of Lei Feng to build a solid foundation of faith, hold the rudder of our thinking, and replenish the calcium of the spirit. In concrete work, we have demonstrated the ideal and belief of fighting for communism all our lives and unswervingly until death, and have been firm believers and faithful practitioners of the lofty ideal of communism and the common ideal of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Carry forward the spirit of Lei Feng and practice the mass line. Lei Feng takes serving the people as the greatest happiness and helping others as the greatest happiness, and he practices the purpose of the Communist Party of China with his true feelings and actions, interpreting the original intention and mission of the communists. To realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, we must, like Lei Feng, closely unite the masses, rely closely on the masses, gather the wisdom and strength of the masses of the people to the greatest extent, and strive to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
