Rural old saying: "men should be pretty, a body of soap, women should be pretty, a body of filial piety", soap is the meaning of black, green and red soap is its typical usage, pronounced "made", filial piety does not refer to filial piety, but refers to white clothes. Many people have heard this sentence and probably understand its meaning, but do you know that it still contains a profound theory of the I Ching? Today Xiaosheng will use the I Ching to explain to you what this sentence means.

The Yi Jing is very old, it is said that it was spread in the ancient Fuxi era, the Middle Ages of Zhou Wen Wang perfected it, so it is also called Zhou Yi, some people say that the ancient Confucius made a yi transmission after the Zhou Yi is considered complete, the history is called "the three ancient calendars, people are more holy".
Either way, the I Ching is the crystallization of the wisdom of the ancient sages. Is there an explanation in the I Ching that "men should be pretty, a soap, a woman should be pretty, and a filial piety" is explained? The I Ching is a philosophical work, and of course it does not give a specific explanation of the problem of the color of men and women, but it provides a theoretical basis for this sentence.
In the I Ching, it is said that Qian is the heaven for the male, Kun is the female for the earth, the heavens are clear and the earth is turbid, and the male is clear and the female is turbid.
It means that men are as light and ethereal as the sky, and women are as heavy and thick as the earth. The color represented by the sky is as white as the white clouds, and the color represented by the earth is the same yellow as the land, which is our usual saying, but the land also has the meaning of black, because the land represents fertility like a woman, and it breeds hope in the darkness, so it also has the meaning of black.
That is, men represent white, women represent black, so why should women wear white and men wear black? Isn't it more in line with the theory that men wear white and women wear black? Ask well, the I Ching also says, one yin and one yang is the Tao, yin and yang reconcile the Tao.
There is a taste of Confucian moderation here, probably related to Confucius's easy transmission, and we Chinese pay attention to what is missing, which is also well-founded. "Men should be pretty, a soap, women should be pretty, a filial piety", is based on what is missing to make up for what is obtained, men "white" more black, women "black" more white, it fully reflects our ancient "yin and yang balance" wisdom.
Of course, these are only extracted from the wisdom of the ancients, we ancients do not seem to have much research on dressing and coloring, which is related to their living habits and living environment, but the wisdom of the ancients and the philosophy in the words, let us have to admire, "men should be pretty, a soap, women should be pretty, a filial piety", although this old saying is old, but the wisdom of the ancients is still vividly displayed in this sentence.
Just said the ancient people's point of view, "men should be pretty, a soap, women should be pretty, a filial piety" is indeed reasonable, then this sentence is still applicable in contemporary times? From our modern point of view, the same clothes are black and thin, men wear tall and handsome, and white clothes, women wear pure and noble, more prominent women's temperament.
From this point of view, this sentence is still outdated. In addition, in the color of the clothes, pay attention to the overall balance, do not color imbalance, reveal a secret, black and white is a universal match, almost any other color of the clothes, that is, in addition to blue and dark green, other colors at will, you can try, the effect is good.
In short, Qiandao is male, Kundao is female, if you want to survive forever, you must balance yin and yang, so it is said, "men should be pretty, a soap, women should be pretty, and filial piety", which contains the truth of "yin and yang harmony and even balance" in the I Ching, which makes us can't help but admire the wisdom of the ancients.
