More than seventy years ago, a group of Chinese Communists held a firm conviction in fighting for the truth, held the heroic feeling of sacrificing themselves for the cause of the people's liberation, and with lofty ideological realm and extraordinary political wisdom, bravely fought bravely against the strong enemy in the difficult and complicated environment of the Kuomintang-ruled areas, and forged an immortal spiritual monument.

In June 1948, due to the betrayal of traitors, underground party member Jiang Zhujun was unfortunately arrested and imprisoned in Chongqing's Zhadidong Prison. The Kuomintang agents used all kinds of torture in a vain attempt to open a gap in this young female Communist Party member and sabotage the underground party organization. In the face of severe torture, she has always been unyielding.
On the eve of the liberation of Chongqing in 1949, full of infinite yearning for new China, Jiang Zhujun and other revolutionary heroes made heroic sacrifices.
Chongqing is a land of heroes with a glorious revolutionary tradition. During the stormy years during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the early days of the War of Liberation, proletarian revolutionaries, Communists, and revolutionaries of the older generation of the Southern Bureau of the CPC Central Committee influenced many latecomers with lofty ideological realms, firm ideals and convictions, tremendous strength of personality, and great revolutionary righteousness. During the Liberation War, Jiang Zhujun, Chen Ran, and other Communist Party members who grew up under the education and cultivation of the Southern Bureau withstood all kinds of torture and torture, sacrificed their precious lives for the cause of the liberation of the Chinese people, and condensed their blood and lives into a great Red Rock Spirit.
Today, the former site of Zha di Dong Prison has become a patriotic education base, and people from all over the world come to remember the heroic soul and relive history. In the face of the gloomy prison cells and terrible torture devices, people can't help but ask: Life is precious, what makes the martyrs sacrifice their lives and forget their deaths? The price of freedom is higher, what makes the revolutionaries go deep into the tiger's den and sacrifice bloodily?
The answer is faith!
In the face of the enemy's severe torture, Chen Ran, the special branch secretary of the "Advance Newspaper," wrote the "My Confessions" in prison, and went to his death in anger, fulfilling his solemn oath to the party with his life: "As long as there is still a breath, we will fight for the revolution to the end!" ”
"In the face of all difficulties, hold high our banner!" Luo Shiwen and other comrades secretly set up a temporary party branch in prison to lead the victims to wage a resolute struggle against the enemy.
In the Spring Festival of 1949, in the prison of Zha Di Dong, the prisoners sang revolutionary songs and recited the "Communist Manifesto", and the fiery and passionate language was full of philosophical wisdom, so that the light of truth illuminated the spiritual world of every communist.

Many of these brave and fearless revolutionaries and martyrs who were unfortunate enough to come from wealthy families with no worries about food and clothing. The choice to devote oneself to the revolution and to sacrifice one's life and forget one's death stems from the firm belief in "fighting for the vast majority of the people." Over the past many years, our Party has gone through hardships and tribulations, and has not been crushed by difficulties or overthrown by the enemy. Under the guidance of firm ideals and convictions, revolutionaries stood up in a place of thorns, waged an indomitable struggle against the enemy, and wrote a tragic and brilliant chapter in the spiritual genealogy of the Chinese Communists.
Rock solid never changes color
The reason why the Hongyan spirit is precious and special is that it was born in the revolutionary practice of the Communist Party of China in the Kuomintang area. At that time, the White Terror was serious, and the party members and comrades were in a special environment and shouldered special tasks, not only to struggle against the enemy, but also to make friends from all walks of life; to strictly obey orders and discipline, but also to exert wisdom and wisdom to deal with complicated situations; to withstand the test of "life and death" at any time, and to face the temptation of a high-ranking official's thick and decadent life.
In the face of all this, how can we maintain our original intention and not lose our color?
Discipline constrains the behavior of ordinary people; and faith and character allow people to stick to their true colors when they lack external constraints.
In March 1943, on the 45th birthday of the lunar calendar, Zhou Enlai wrote down the "Rules for My Cultivation"—including 7 articles, including "Work hard, have a plan, have a focus, and be organized", "Never isolate yourself from the masses", and "Specifically correct your shortcomings". Responsibility, value pursuit, spiritual outlook, political character... The proletarian revolutionaries of the older generation of the Southern Bureau have left behind many precious legacies of spiritual character.
The "Eight Articles in Prison", which were distilled and summarized according to the opinions of the Hongyan martyrs in prison, have a strong practical guidance to this day. These precious disciplines are the loyalty of revolutionaries written in blood, one of the answers left for future generations to find out "why the Chinese Communist Party can", and also a warning record of the Chinese Communist Party's self-purification, self-improvement, self-innovation, and self-improvement.
