State Forestry and Grassland Administration: The work of compensating wild animal farmers for suspension of business has been completed by more than 90%.

At a press conference held by the State Council Information Office today (1st), the relevant person in charge of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration said that the consumption of wild animals brings great dangers to people's health and poses a major hidden danger to public health safety. After the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the ban on wild game has been carried out continuously, involving some poor households in the industry, involving about 140,000 poor people. None of the 140,000 poor households have returned to poverty or been impoverished as a result of the ban on wild game.

According to reports, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration has issued more than ten special notices and documents to guide all localities to carry out the work of retiring and disposing of forbidden terrestrial wild animals and compensating for cashing in an orderly manner. As of now, the disposal of forbidden wild animals has been completed. At present, the compensation for the suspension of wild animals involved in the country has been completed by more than 90%, and 24 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities have been completed.

Relevant departments such as forestry and grassland, agriculture and rural areas, and traditional Chinese medicine in various localities help farmers to dock with units and enterprises such as ornamental, medicinal, biological products, and seed source supply, guide farmers to change the use of farmed animals in a timely manner, broaden the sales channels of animals in breeding, or replace the types of farmed animals, and promote the reuse of breeding facilities.

In addition, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, together with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the State Council Poverty Alleviation Office and other departments, gives employment training, entrepreneurship support and other policy support to farmers who have stopped breeding activities, and for poor households that have established files and established cards, they have formulated assistance programs in accordance with the principle of one household, one policy, and according to household policies, to prevent the occurrence of poverty return to poverty, and the effect is better.
