Dinosaur "Great Detective"
Strolling between the city and countryside of Lufeng, shuttling through the streets and alleys of Longcheng, the city tones with dinosaur cultural elements as the main elements and historical accumulation culture as the supplement complement each other; the welcome dinosaur sculptures, dinosaur street lamp poles, painted dinosaurs and other patterns are all impressive.
In 2003, the 436 square kilometers of area around Lufeng County was announced by the State Council as a national dinosaur geopark, and the national geopark museum that has been built is an important scientific research base for the province, the whole country and even the world; the Lufeng Dinosaur Museum, the Dinosaur Relics Museum of the National Geopark and the urban infrastructure such as urban roads, squares, garden sketches, and lamp poles have dinosaur cultural elements, and the dinosaur culture and art center has become a landmark building. In the Lufeng City Conference Center, with the names of Lulong Hall, Golden Dragon Hall, Ridge Dragon Hall, Giant Dragon Hall, etc., Longcheng Road, Jurassic Avenue and other street names related to dinosaurs are well known, and the business card of dinosaur culture will be polished more brightly.
In 2020, 222 stones were carved along the main road of the city, and 230 cartoon dinosaur patterns were selected and designed, creating a characteristic dinosaur theme block in the county, and these cute dinosaur "painted stones" became a beautiful landscape of Lufeng's "World Dinosaur Town".
The continuous fame of Lufeng dinosaurs has brought unlimited prospects to the tourism development of Lufeng, from dinosaur patterns to dinosaur culture to dinosaur tourism, dinosaurs have become the IP image of Lufeng, tourists from all over the world have come to Lufeng, and Lufeng has become an important node on the tourism ring line of West Yunnan.
