According to the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone News, on September 22, the Seventh Session of the Sixth CPPCC National Committee elected Lin Jie as the chairman of the Shenzhen Municipal CPPCC. Because of his age, Dai Beibei no longer serves as the chairman of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

According to the official resume, Lin Jie was born in April 1963, graduated from Shaozhou Normal School in Guangdong Province in 1980 and entered Shaoguan Normal School as a teacher and secretary of the Youth League Branch, and worked at Nantou Primary School in Shenzhen in 1984. In 1985, Lin Jie was transferred to the Education Bureau of Nantou District of Shenzhen City, and later served as deputy secretary of the Shenzhen Nantou District Committee of the Communist Youth League and deputy secretary of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League.
In 1995, at the age of 32, Lin Jie became the secretary of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee of the Communist Youth League for six years. During this period, he served as the deputy director of the Juvenile Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League from 1999 to 2000.
