Zhang Zheng served as a member of the Party Group and Assistant to the Chairman of the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and later served as deputy secretary of the Altay Prefectural Committee of the Xinjiang Autonomous Region (at the level of director of the main office), deputy secretary of the Tongren Municipal Party Committee of Guizhou Province (at the level of director of the main office), deputy secretary of the Guizhou Qianxian Prefecture Party Committee (at the level of director of the main office), secretary of the Qianxian Prefecture Party Committee of Guizhou Province, and became the editor-in-chief of Guangming Daily in June 2017.
