Zhang Zhenfu pointed out the problem of unstable rhythm of the songs in the record on the spot and sang it according to the correct rhythm.
The teacher secretly praised in his heart, knowing that he had found a good seedling. As a result, Zhang Zhenfu became a small celebrity in the school, and every performance was a finale program.
Because of his family's poverty, Zhang Zhenfu later dropped out of school and went to the Beicang Railway Station as a stevedore.

In 1959, Zhang Zhenfu was conscripted into the army.

Entering the literary troupe, Zhang Zhenfu had little experience in acting because of his shallow skills.
At first, there was only a running dragon set, but he was not sloppy at all.
Every performance is taken seriously.
When I don't perform, I help move props, set up the stage, and be diligent.
After entering the literary troupe, he knew that the opportunity was not easy to come by, and he also told himself that if he wanted to do it, he would have to do it.
He visited the famous opera performance artist Wang Jiaxiang and the vocal music professor Yu Yi as teachers and studied hard.
Every time a new song came, he had to buy a collection of songs and practice well.
His songs such as "The Song in My Heart To the People's Liberation Army", "A Pair of Eyes Shining in My Heart", and "Song of the Desert" were widely circulated among the audience.
It is also for this reason that he is known as "the outstanding lyrical tenor singer in contemporary China".
But Zhang Zhenfu is best known for his heart as a warrior.
In order to give the best performance to the soldiers, he has his footprints in the snowy plateau, the sea frontier, the inaccessible and arduous outposts, and the scenes of flood relief.
He is wholehearted, not afraid of hardship, even if the road encounters a single soldier performance, he is not slack.
He went twice to the front line of the old mountain, through the blockade to the front line to perform for the soldiers.

In fact, Zhang Zhenfu is not rich, but he has always been compared with the soldiers on the front line, and he always feels that he has gained more.
The more this happened, the more he wanted to serve the warriors, which was why he ended up sick and did not open the knife.
In 1985, he once took the initiative to go to the Sezira Mountain at an altitude of 5710 meters, braving the snow and carrying an oxygen bottle to the forbidden area of life to sing to the soldiers.
He always said that the party and the people have given me a lot of honors, and my greatest wish is to sing to the people and soldiers.

At the end of 1996, Zhang Zhenfu, who returned from a field performance, had a low fever and coughed.

Doctors recommend surgery, and the sooner the better, but it may be necessary to cut off the entire left lung.
Zhang Zhenfu asked the above question:
"If only one side lung remained, could you still sing?"
The doctor said that if you had surgery, you might not be able to sing like this.
That night, Zhang Zhenfu couldn't sleep all night, tossing and turning, and he had to make a choice.
In the end, Zhang Zhenfu chose conservative treatment, just so that he could continue to sing for the warriors.
Because he believes that he is a singer trained by the army, he will serve the soldiers for a lifetime.
Once in the army, he endured the pain and performed 12 times in 7 days.
In order not to let the leader take care of him, he deceived the leader that he was uncomfortable.
He said to the regimental leaders:
"Whenever I perform for the warriors, I will participate."
In 1998, when there was a huge flood in the south, Zhang Zhenfu took the initiative to sign up for the condolence performance troupe.
Before he took the stage, he had a seizure, and the unit wanted to take him to the hospital for rescue, but he still said that it was okay.
Then, he went to the flood dam and sang several songs.
Except for a few close friends, outsiders have not known about his condition.
What they saw was Zhang Zhenfu's non-stop performance of condolences in one grass-roots unit after another.
Zhang Zhenfu once said that the heroes in his heart are Paul Kochajin and Jiao Yulu.
He kept telling himself that he couldn't lie down because he had to sing for the warriors.
Zhang Zhenfu is not only very good to his work and comrades-in-arms, but also intimate and concerned about his family and friends.
