Recently, Renault officially unveiled its pure electric SUV at the 2021 Munich Motor Show - Renault Mega E-Tech, the new car is the mass production version of the Megane Vision concept car previously announced by Renault, using a five-door hatchback crossover design, its maximum cruising range is about 580km, and is expected to be the first to be listed in the European market in the first half of 2022.
Renault Megane E-Tech perfectly inherits the design of the Megane Vision concept car, its degree of restoration is extremely high, the only difference is that the new car adopts Renault's latest logo, which not only makes the new car look more dynamic and stylish, but also improves the recognition of the new car.
The front face of the new car is designed with a closed air intake grille design, and the bumper below it is filled with honeycomb decorative panels, plus a gold chrome decorative plate similar to an arrow, which enhances the texture of the new car. The flat, narrow and long LED matrix headlights on both sides of the new car, the special shape of the daytime running lights extend to the bottom, and the air intakes on both sides below not only add a bit of futurism to the new car, but also enhance the sporty attributes of the new car.
Renault Megane E-Tech's body shape is flat and stable, several sharp body lines outline a good muscle sense for the new car, and with large blade-style wheels, it creates a good sense of strength and sport for the new car. In addition, the door handle of the new car also adopts a hidden design, when the user is close to the body, the door handle will automatically pop out, which is very technological.
As for the size, since the Renault Megane E-Tech is positioned as a compact SUV model and is based on the CMF-EV platform of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, the body size of the new car should be similar to that of Nissan Aria, and it is expected that the length, width and height of the new car will be 4210/1800/1505mm and the wheelbase will be 2700mm.
The rear shape of the new car is very rounded, which adopts a simple style design language, and now the popular through-type taillight design, the concave and convex black periphery under the tail, and the arrow-style gold chrome decorative plate that echoes the front of the car not only enhance the layering of the rear, but also improve the recognition of the rear.
Inside the car, the interior of the Renault Megane E-Tech adopts a new design style, and the 12-inch digital instrument + 12-inch central control screen form an inverted L-shaped OpenR digital screen, creating a strong sense of technology. A row of piano-style physical buttons is also retained under the central control screen of the new car, which adds a bit of refinement to the car.
In addition, the interior color of the new car is mainly black, and the use of yellow decorative strips for embellishment is similar to the gold chrome decorative panels at the front and rear of the car, creating a good visual effect for the interior. It is worth mentioning that the new car will be equipped with the Android Automotive OS operating system, as for what intelligent technology will be equipped, Renault has not yet revealed.
In terms of power, the Renault Megane E-Tech is available in two versions, namely single motor and dual motor, of which the single-motor front-drive model has a maximum output of 160 kW (215 hp) and the dual-motor four-wheel drive model has a maximum output of 286 kW (389 hp), with a 100 km/h acceleration of only 5.1 seconds.
In terms of batteries, the single-motor version of the new car will be equipped with a lithium battery pack with a capacity of 40kWh and 60kWh, with a maximum cruising range of 470km, and the dual-motor four-wheel drive version will be equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 90kWh and a cruising range of 580 kilometers.

After the renault Mega E-Tech is listed, the competitor of the new car will be the Volkswagen ID.4, both of which are very high in appearance and have their own characteristics, which is really difficult to distinguish; because the new car has not yet announced the intelligent technology it is equipped with, it will not be compared here. In terms of cruising range, taking the domestic version of the Volkswagen ID.4 as an example, its maximum cruising range is 555km, while the maximum cruising range of the new car is 580km, which occupies a little advantage.
In general, the overall performance of Renault Megane E-Tech is good, the appearance is high, the car is full of technology, the mileage is also the mainstream level, and it has a good competitiveness in the same level of models.
