In 1982, Hwang was born in Gumi, a small town 277 kilometers from Seoul, to a family of three children, the youngest of whom he was. Huang Zhilie's first contact with music was in the second grade of middle school, and his body rhythmized with the frequency of music, which also made him feel that singing and dancing were just as fun. However, practicing singing and dancing requires money.
At that time, South Korea was experiencing an economic crisis, making it even more difficult for families who were not rich in the first place. So there is no way, Huang Zhilie can only rely on self-study. Without professional vocal training, he practiced pronunciation with music books and spent ten hours a day. Every year on her mother's birthday, in order to make her happy, Huang Zhilie would sing "Loving Mother" to her, take the guitar to her mother who was working in the kitchen, but she was always blown away, "So noisy, go back to the house"! He said his parents never said a word of encouragement until he became famous in 15 years.
At the age of 20, Huang Zhilie joined the local dance troupe in Gumi City, and became the captain of the dance troupe because of his outstanding performance. Speaking of those days, his expression was a little proud, "Although it sounds like self-aggrandizement, I am very famous in our community"! But for him, instead of screaming offstage, he expected his parents to come and see his performance. In fact, when Huang Zhilie did not know, his parents had already come to see him, but when they saw their sons dancing on the stage, they were even more chilled.
Huang Zhilie is a filial son, but he is still stubborn in his bones. Even if his parents objected, he still went all the way to the black. In the dance troupe, Huang Zhilie had a very good friend, and when he knew that his friend was going to Seoul to sing, he thought that he could go to Seoul to make himself more independent, and he could also prove to his parents that being a singer was not a bad choice. So he told his parents about this idea, but they actually agreed. Three months after leaving home, he learned that his father had stomach cancer.
<h1>When "Seoul drifts", the poor also have a poor way to live</h1>
On September 24, 2004, Huang Zhilie left home with 200,000 won (about 1,200 yuan).
"Was the money your parents gave you?" "It's the money I earned myself," Huang Zhilie said, in fact, he made a total of 40 million in the dance troupe, he knew that it was not easy to raise his parents with three children, so when he left, he left all this money at home, and he only took part of it as living expenses. As a result, not long after arriving in Seoul, he couldn't hold on, "The next month I asked them to remit me another 200,000, hahahaha."
Recalling the days when there was no money, Huang Zhilie was quite optimistic. At the beginning of his life as "Seoul Drifter", he lived in a semi-basement where it was damp every day, and sunlight could only penetrate through narrow windows. He also stayed with a friend's house, saved some money, and finally settled down in a tower house. Many of the furniture and appliances in Huang Zhilie's home are picked up by him from the recycle bin and modified by himself, including the audio he used to learn music, "In fact, my craftsmanship is very good, generally it is to take apart the audio that others do not use, take out the good parts and then assemble them."
In order to win the opportunity to learn, Huang Zhilie visited composers and worked for them for free; when he had no money to learn piano, he went to the bookstore to find piano books, secretly photographed them with his mobile phone, and then went home to transcribe the sheet music on paper; every day he stood under the bridge near his home to practice vocalization, practicing for ten hours, and he still remembers that his voice was drowned in the noisy traffic. During that time, Huang Zhilie had almost no financial resources and did not do any work unrelated to music, and he stubbornly believed that since he wanted to be a singer, he should not be distracted by other things.
After three years of day-to-day efforts, Huang Zhilie finally released his first personal EP "Zhilie" in 2007, officially debuting, but it was not long before this album was forgotten by the Korean music scene. To make matters worse, the company he signed when he debuted failed due to financial problems, but he still had the contract signed by the artist. If the contract does not expire, he can no longer be on the stage. There were still dreams to support the days without money, but at that time, Huang Zhilie really had nothing.
One day in 2009, Huang Zhilie was chatting with fellow singers, and his knees suddenly froze, which was an old wound he left behind when he danced in the dance troupe, and once he sat cross-legged for a long time, his knees would be misplaced. It happened to be South Korea's Comet Day, all the hospitals in Seoul were closed, and Hwang Couldree could only seek medical treatment in the emergency department, leaving only more than 20,000 won of 180,000 won in his hospital pocket. "In the past, my friends all became a happy family, so what was I doing alone?" For the first time, he realized how powerless it was to live on dreams alone.
But Huang Zhilie has been trying to maintain the balance between dreams and reality, and in order to become famous, he participated in a singing competition and debuted again as an idol group, which eventually ended in dissolution. Faced with the double pressure from life and his parents, he made up his mind to change his career as a teacher, "The winter before the university was very cold, when teaching two students was about 300,000 won, and for this salary I rode a motorcycle to a place 24 kilometers away from home." Living to the age of 31, he had his first stable job as a vocal teacher at the SMS Practical Conservatory.
Even in the game with reality, Huang Zhilie temporarily lowered his head, but he was still trying. As a vocal teacher, he has the opportunity to create unique musical models that he teaches to his students.
