With just three days to go until the opening of the 9th Beijing International Film Festival, this international film feast will be held in Beijing from April 13 to 20, 2019. In 2018, the Chinese film market was hot, the total box office of the whole year exceeded the 60 billion mark for the first time, and a number of high-quality domestic films that were acclaimed and popular throughout the year emerged, and the domestic young film power is emerging.
Coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, this year's film festival sets the theme as "Home and Country", including seven main activities such as the main competition unit "Temple of Heaven Award", the opening ceremony, the Beijing Screening, the Beijing Planning Theme Forum, the Beijing Market, the Film Carnival, the Closing Ceremony and the Award Ceremony, as well as more than 300 activities such as the "Indian Film Week".
As the highlight of this film festival, the Temple of Heaven Award collects outstanding films from all over the world, and after layers of selection, 15 shortlisted films are finally selected.
