The reporter learned today from the "2021 Third Quarter College Graduates Job Market Prosperity Report" (hereinafter referred to as the report) released by the China Employment Research Institute of Chinese Min University and the joint Zhilian Recruitment that with the improvement of domestic epidemic prevention and control and the continuous recovery of economic development, the CIER index of college graduates in the third quarter was 1.24, as college graduates entered the peak period of autumn job hunting, job competition was more intense, and the employment prosperity index decreased month-on-month, but increased year-on-year.
It is understood that the report uses big data of the recruitment network to analyze the overall job market situation of college graduates, as well as different aspects of different industries and occupations, different regions and cities, and the size and nature of different enterprises.
In the third quarter, the employment prosperity index of college graduates climbed month by month
The results of the report show that this quarter, college graduates entered the peak period of autumn job hunting, the employment prosperity index decreased month-on-month, and the job search competition was more intense; year-on-year, the cier index of college graduates in the third quarter of the country and college graduates rebounded month-on-month.
Sequentially, compared with the second quarter of 2021, the recruitment demand for college graduates increased by 6.5% in this quarter, but the increase in the number of deliveries due to the increase in the number of applicants for graduates ushered in the autumn job search season made the CIER index decline month-on-month. From a year-on-year perspective, compared with the same period last year, the recruitment demand for college graduates decreased by 2.3% in this quarter, and the number of job applicants fell by 9.5%, making the CIER index increase year-on-year.
In terms of monthly, in terms of recruitment demand, January to June 2021 are higher than the same period last year, March to April reached the highest, July declined, August and September were flat with the same period last year; in terms of job search supply, college graduates work search is cyclical, March reached the highest, and August and September were flat with the same period last year, at the same time, due to the continuous improvement of domestic epidemic prevention and control, compared with last year, this year's college graduates can choose to participate in offline campus job fairs and other channels, therefore, the number of online job seekers is 2 ~ June was lower than the same period last year; the college graduate prosperity index was higher than last year from February to June this year, while August and September were basically the same as the same period last year.
The boom in the education and training industry has declined significantly, and the curriculum counseling of primary and secondary schools has cooled down
In July 2021, the "double reduction" policy was officially introduced, and various local governments have also successively issued specific implementation documents, which can be seen that since entering the third quarter of 2021, the number of college graduates in education, training, and colleges and universities has shown a month-by-month downward trend from July to September, while the number of job applications has also dropped significantly in August, and there has been a slight rebound in September.
It is worth mentioning that the change in the CIER index of college graduates in the education and training industry fell to 4.69 in September, indicating that the "double reduction" policy has a significant cooling effect on the employment of the education industry.
At the same time, after the implementation of the "double reduction" policy, it has had a significant impact on college graduates who have tutored occupations in primary and secondary school courses. From the perspective of recruitment demand, from July to September 2021, the number of recruitment demand for primary and secondary school curriculum counseling has declined continuously, especially in September. From the perspective of job supply, the number of college graduates in Primary and Secondary School Course Counseling occupations in August 2021 also fell sharply, and September was basically the same as August. From the perspective of employment sentiment, the prosperity index fell to 16.61 in September, the lowest since the second quarter of this year.
The report pointed out that in the third quarter of 2021, the employment prosperity index of college graduates declined month-on-month, and the same ring rose, and after the adjustment of the statistical caliber of the supply side, the job market prosperity index of college graduates was lower than the national level. It is worth noting that as a group of young people entering the job market for the first time, college graduates have certain differences in job search characteristics from the job search of incumbents, especially with obvious seasonal characteristics, and further heterogeneity analysis of the two groups is needed in the future. In addition, this report also found that the "double reduction policy" has led to a significant cooling of the employment boom of occupations in education and training-related industries, especially in the recruitment demand side, and the job search behavior and job conversion of relevant practitioners in the future need further attention. Finally, through the analysis of the scale and nature of different occupations, different regions and cities, and different enterprises in different industries, this report finds that the current structural contradictions in the employment of college graduates still exist, and it is necessary to further optimize the employment structure through policy guidance in the future.
