Belgrade, 27 Oct (Xinhua) -- On 27 October local time, Serbian Prime Minister Brnabić met with State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Belgrade.

Wang Yi first conveyed Premier Li Keqiang's cordial greetings to Premier Brna Beach. Wang Yi said: Under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Cyprus relations have always maintained a strong momentum of development, brought tangible benefits to the two peoples, and played an important role in regional peace and stability. Sino-Cypriot cooperation projects cover all fields and achieve good economic and social benefits. Wang Yi said that since the outbreak of the new crown epidemic, China and Cyprus have firmly stood together, and the touching picture of friendship between the two countries will forever be frozen in the annals of bilateral exchanges, becoming a vivid portrayal of the "hardcore friendship" between China and Serbia. For China, Serbian friends are like family, and we deeply feel the warm and heartfelt friendship of the Serbian people. The Chinese side appreciates that the Cypriot side has always firmly supported China's core interests and important concerns, cherished the deep friendship with the Cypriot side, placed China-Cyprus relations in a priority position in exchanges with the European Union, and is willing to develop together with the Cypriot side and share prosperity. The two sides should promote the joint construction of key projects along the "Belt and Road", expand cooperation in the fields of green economy, clean energy, efficient use of energy, Internet +, cross-border e-commerce, big data, cloud computing, smart cities, 5G and other fields, so as to provide more powerful impetus for sustainable development.

Brnabic asked Wang Yi to convey his best wishes to Premier Li Keqiang. The Serbian people will never forget that China has sent charcoal to Serbia in the fight against the epidemic, selflessly helped Serbia to ensure people's livelihood, and actively supported the rapid economic development of Serbia. The friendship between Cyprus and China is indestructible, and the pragmatic cooperation has yielded fruitful results. Developing cooperation with China is fully in Line with Serbia's actual and long-term interests. No matter how the international situation changes and no matter what kind of pressure it is under, the Cypriot side will unswervingly pursue a friendly policy toward China. We are willing to work with China to implement the key projects of the "Belt and Road", strengthen cooperation in infrastructure, digital economy, artificial intelligence and biotechnology, and promote Serbian-Chinese relations to a new level.
