"Electric beautiful countryside" makes the lemon fragrance in Tongnan more intense

The State Grid Hongyan (Tongnan Transportation Inspection) Communist Party Member Service Team understands the electricity demand of customers in Huida Lemon

Do you know? The lemons we usually eat can actually be hung on the branches all year round and can be picked at any time. On October 26, at the lemon base of Chongqing Jingwei Agricultural Co., Ltd. in Baizi Town, Tongnan District, Chongqing, several electric power workers were inspecting the line to help enterprises check the hidden dangers of electricity safety and repair mosquito lamps, adding a guarantee for the production and operation of enterprises.

Recently, 40,000 mu of lemons in Tongnan Baizi Town are about to ripen and be picked. Slices of lemons are hung on the branches, the unique lemon fragrance is refreshing, and the emerald green leaves and golden fruits constitute a harmonious picture of rural revitalization.

"This year, it is expected to harvest about 200,000 catties of lemons, which can be sold for 3 to 4 yuan per catty." Zhang Chongwei, head of Jingwei Agricultural Company, introduced that his lemon orchard mainly grows Yulik, Beijing lemon and so on. This year, lemon production and market conditions are better, and orchards are expected to usher in a bumper harvest.

Zhang Chongwei is a native of Xiaoling Village, Baizi Town. In 2017, he learned that Tongnan was building a lemon base of 10,000 mu and had various support policies and technical support, so he contracted 200 mu of land in the village and began to grow lemons.

Lemon cultivation and irrigation are supported by adequate and reliable electricity. "In the event of a long period of rain and no rain, every 10 days or so, we have to start the pumping irrigation equipment to water the lemon trees to 'quench thirst'." Zhang Chongwei said that the orchard has laid a sprinkler in the ground every 30 meters, in addition to meeting the conventional irrigation, the flowering period, fruit hanging period, etc. can also be sprayed with insect repellents, which require electricity.

Previously, Zhang Chongwei's orchard had been using lighting electricity. In July 2020, Zhang Chongwei transformed the irrigation system and added some electrical equipment. With the increase of electricity load, lighting electricity gradually does not meet the development needs of orchards. Zhang Chongwei decided to apply for the installation of power electricity, and also prepared the installation fee.

"I didn't expect to install the power grid in one phone call, and I didn't spend a penny." Zhang Chongwei said that on July 21, 2020, he called Zhang Mingjie, director of the State Grid Chongqing Tongnan Power Supply Company Baizi Power Supply, to inquire about the installation of the power meter, and on the same day, the power supply employees came to investigate, verify the equipment load, determine the power access point, formulate a power supply plan, and guide him to submit 10 kilowatts of power applications on the online State Grid APP.

Three days later, the power supply staff completed the erection of 330 meters of low-voltage lines, built a new pole with 4 bases, and pulled the power line to the pumping room of Zhang Chongwei Orchard.

With power electricity, the orchard's pumped irrigation system can be activated at any time, and the lemon tree is no longer "thirsty", the longer the better. Zhang Chongwei saw it in his eyes and was happy in his heart, and he was more confident in lemon cultivation.

What Zhang Chongwei did not expect was that in March this year, the State Grid Chongqing Tongnan Power Supply Company included Xiaoling Village in the category of "electric beautiful villages", which improved the power supply guarantee capacity in the village, and Zhang Chongwei's orchard had more adequate and reliable electricity.

With sufficient and reliable electricity, Zhang Chongwei's lemon orchard is on the right track. At the same time, nearby villagers are encouraged to come to work to earn money and increase income.

"When I was busy, there were more than 30 people working here." Zhang Chongwei said that the orchard first considers the poor households in the village or the elderly without other economic resources to work, each person's daily salary is 60 yuan, and the villagers' highest annual income in the orchard is nearly 20,000 yuan.

Yang Jianhua, director of the Agricultural Service Center of Baizi Town, introduced that there are many people engaged in lemon planting like Zhang Chongwei in Baizi Town, only 10 large-scale growers such as Huida Lemon, Golden Pot Fruit Industry, Ganghong Fruit and Vegetables, etc., with an annual output of nearly 20,000 tons and an annual output value of about 200 million yuan, the town has also expanded and built a lemon standardized planting base along the "Tongbai Road, Taibai Road", and the town's lemon planting area has reached more than 40,000 mu.

In order to serve the development of the local lemon industry, since February 2020, the State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company has taken advantage of the opportunity of the "Electric Beautiful Countryside" project to transform and upgrade the power grid of Baizi Town to improve the power supply guarantee capability. By the end of September, a total of 53 distribution transformer areas had been renovated, 42 new transformers had been added, 142.51 kilometers of new 10 kV lines and 373.11 km of low-voltage lines had been built, benefiting 4813 villagers and lemon growers in 21 villages.
