Singapore Night Safari is the world's first night safari for visitors to visit, as well as a 35-hectare zoo dedicated to nocturnal animals, embedded in a natural rainforest home to over 100 species, home to more than 900 nocturnal wildlife, and you can even see many rare and endangered species such as Asian elephants, Malaysian membranes, Malay tigers and more. It is different from other ordinary zoos that have lighting at night, nor is it the kind of modern nocturnal biology museum that can be seen in other zoos around the world. Visitors can enjoy a unique experience by watching wildlife in the tropical jungle at night.
The Singapore Night Safari is also highly acclaimed and has won various awards internationally. Since opening to the public in 1994, it has won several Singapore Tourism Awards and the Best Leisure Destination Award in 1996, 1997, 1999 and 2000.
In order to ensure the survival environment of the wild state, the Singapore Night Zoo basically has no street lights, and it is strictly forbidden to use flashes and other digital products that may bring light pollution, but don't worry about not seeing animals, when your eyes gradually adapt to the dark environment, you can gradually identify wild wild animals wandering in the forest. In the moonlight, you can see herds of hyenas resting on the ground, elephants and hippos swaying forward, pythons curled up in caves, and more. The Singapore Night Zoo is full of animals at night, but the environment is very peaceful, and if you hold your breath and listen carefully, you can even hear the rustle of animals walking through the trees. The magical experience of finding a rare wild creature in the dark forest is not to be missed.
The park is divided into an open area and a barrier protection area, where visitors can observe the heroic appearance of large predators such as leopards, lions and tigers in the forest under the protection of natural barriers, and can also watch the feeding process of these big cats at fixed times and experience the wild world almost face to face. Of course, you can also choose to get up close and personal with the docile wildlife in the open area.
At the Singapore Night Zoo, when the light is sleeping, the fences and ditches in the zoo seem to disappear during the day, and people seem to be closer to the animals. At the same time, many animals such as owls and leopards will emit yellow-green light at night, so visitors will see more than a dozen pairs of eyes moving.
The park plans two ways to visit the park, the tour of the car route of 3.2 kilometers, about 40 minutes, along the way can see ferocious large animals, such as leopards, bison, antelopes, as well as lorises, tarsiers and so on. If you can't get enough of it, the park has also planned a total of 2.8 kilometers of trails for fishing cat trails, leopard trails, wallabies and east station trails, which can slowly explore the jungle scene under the cover of night.
Because most tourists will choose the park car, so there are often long queues next to the park car, if you want to take the park car, there is no shortcut except to arrive earlier. The park car is equipped with guide headsets, although seeing wild animals may not be able to suppress the excitement of the heart, but still need to be restrained from loud noises, so as not to disturb the animals that are resting or hunting, when the animals appear, the tour guide will silently gesture to tourists to watch. A caravan tour takes about 40 minutes and passes through the habitat areas of the main animals, and you can observe animals from different parts of the world in different regions of the World, such as the Himalayas, India, Africa, And Malay. There is generally no stopping during driving, and visitors have the opportunity to get in close contact with wildlife when passing through unguarded protected areas. The park car covers two-thirds of the park's area, with a small overlap of routes and pedestrian routes, and will return visitors to the entrance at the end of the tour, at which point you can explore other areas according to the park's guided tour map.
There are four hiking trails within the zoo where you can go deep into the jungle and discover more animals you won't see on a tram ride. The Fishing Cat Trail recreates the thrilling experience of Singapore's jungle night trek, with the popular Leopard Trail bringing together the most indigenous wildlife species from across Southeast Asia. If you head to the new Explorer Outpost on the Fishing Cat Trail, don't forget to catch a glimpse of the newest nocturnal animal member there, the Three-Belt Armadillo on the La River. The Singapore Night Safari has four connected but not repetitive hikes, all of which are just a short walk around, and although the environment is dim, you don't have to worry about safety at all, and all that awaits you is surprise, not fright.
Another highlight of the Night Safari is the animal show called "The Spirits of the Night", which takes place every night in the park's open-air circular theatre.
The program format is innovative, with entertainment and stage lighting and influence effects, showing the unique natural habits of nocturnal animals, including mountain lions, binturongs, oriental small-clawed otters and reticulated pythons.
"Spirits of the Night" nocturnal animal shows are available daily at 20:00, 21:00 and 22:00 (depending on the weather).
In addition, there are tribal performances of the Borneo "Thumbuakar" tribe (every evening at 19:00, 20:30 and 21:30).
In commemoration of the 45th anniversary of the Singapore Zoo, the Singapore Night Safari also launched a multimedia night experience with the safari as the background, combining light and sound effects - The Night of the Phantom Rainforest. The Rainforest is about one kilometer long, with 13 themes such as Treetop Walk, Light Road, Light Chalet, And Shimmer Island, mainly composed of 10 areas, adhering to the concept that everyone can have their own exclusive role in the rainforest, integrating the story into the landscape, leading visitors to meet animal messengers, and embarking on an unparalleled magical adventure led by this team of strange heroes.
Lighting is the most important part of creating a charm at night. Experiencers follow the light-guided walk through a 1.5-kilometer-long marvelous promenade at night. Through vision and sounds and lighting hidden in the natural environment, the experiencers' senses are enhanced to amplify their imagination and create a wonderful immersive experience.
