On November 29, 1974, Marshal Peng Dehuai, an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China and a highly respected proletarian revolutionary of the older generation, died of illness at the age of 76.
In 1979, five years after the death of Marshal Peng Dehuai, his ex-wife Pu Anxiu received a supplementary payment from Peng Dehuai, which also included Peng Dehuai's savings during his lifetime.
The salary paid by the central government to Marshal Peng Dehuai and a pension after his death totaled more than 48,000 yuan.
Urayasu was surprised to receive the payment, because as early as 1962, the two of them ended in a formal divorce and have not been in contact since.
So why should this reissuance be handed over to Urayasu to deal with it? How did Urayasu dispose of this repayment after receiving it?

In 1979, the central authorities disposed of Peng Dehuai's relics and first handed over all the shotguns, pistols, and bullets used by Peng Dehuai during his lifetime to the General Staff Administration's Training Office.
Then the television set used in Peng Dehuai's home was handed over to Peng Dehuai's niece Peng Meikui, and a set of radios and aviation watches with a record player was given to his niece Peng Gang.
Peng Dehuai's books such as the Complete Works of Marne and the Complete Works of Lenin were handed over to Urashio for disposal, and other sporadic objects, such as some things with exhibition value, were handed over to the museum for safekeeping.
But the most important of these is the 48,000 yuan of supplementary payment received by the central government, and Urayasu feels that he has a heavy responsibility, and Ura anxiu believes that this property should be distributed in respect of Peng Dehuai's unfulfilled wishes during his lifetime.
One of the repayments was distributed to Peng Dehuai's relatives and revolutionary comrades who had fought alongside Peng Dehuai. His nephews and nieces Peng Meikui, Peng Gang, Peng Zhengxiang, Peng Kangbai, Peng Qichao, Peng Ailan, Peng Kangzhi, and Peng Xiulan also received a number of yuan.
Jing Xizhen, a security staff officer who had originally accompanied Peng Dehuai to work in Sichuan, Qi Kuiying, a secretary, and Comrade Zhao Fengchi, a driver, also received a part of their own.
This was mainly to repay their support for Peng Dehuai's revolutionary work under difficult conditions in those years, and even some relatives made great sacrifices because of Peng Dehuai's revolutionary cause.

Then, Pu Anxiu took out a sum of money and returned the 1,000 yuan borrowed for Peng Dehuai's memorial service and 462 yuan spent on taking photos of Peng Dehuai, and gave 1,000 yuan to the production team in his hometown, paying 5,440 yuan in party fees, and 10,000 yuan to the Central Military Commission for transfer to the People's Bank of China as a cost for national economic construction.
In the end, 4,000 yuan was left for Pu Anxiu, but these Qianpu Anxiu did not take a single cent, and 2,000 yuan of them were handed over by Pu Anxiu to the leaders of Peng Dehuai's hometown to help the villagers and friends who were in difficulty.
There is also 2,000 yuan used as a hospitality for Peng Dehuai's historical research group.

Although Pu Anxiu and Peng Dehuai have divorced, they still know his affairs very well, and Pu Anxiu knows that one of Peng Dehuai's wishes in his lifetime has not yet been realized.
It was in the winter of 1961 that Peng Dehuai returned to his hometown of Xiangtan, Hunan Province, after many years of absence, to conduct research here.
Because of his deep feelings for his homeland, Peng Dehuai stayed in his hometown for nearly thirty days.
In the past thirty days, Peng Dehuai did not give himself a holiday, he did not have time to rest, he went deep into the countryside for more than a month and conducted research work in the shortest time.

Later, Peng Dehuai also specially vacated a small room at home, which was specially used to receive visiting cadres and learn from them about the situation of rural production and life.
The hut received nearly 2,000 cadres and masses before and after, and at the same time, Peng Dehuai personally ran through 3 districts, 7 communes, and more than 10 brigades in Xiangtan County.
So over time, he has a very in-depth and meticulous understanding of the local situation.
At that time, Liu Renchu of the Dragon Regiment Brigade and Shi Jiushun and Zhou Hanquan, the heads of the school district, had always admired Peng Dehuai, a great hero who had walked out of his hometown, and wanted to see his handsomeness.
Several of them met and came together to the back of peng Dehuai's house, and they were seeing Peng Dehuai, who was wearing a neat military uniform and wearing an apron around his waist, and was busy waving a hoe in the field.
The three of them were also stunned to see Marshal Peng Dehuai's skillful appearance in doing farm work.
Under the recommendation of Peng Dehuai's sister-in-law Long Guoying, Liu Renchu and the three of them came to Peng Dehuai's home to visit him, and Peng Dehuai, who was doing farm work, immediately greeted him kindly and invited them into the house to talk.
Talking about the rise, Peng Dehuai also left everyone behind and ate lunch together.
During this short period of time together, several people's respect for Peng Dehuai was doubled, because Peng Dehuai was very concerned about the construction of his hometown, the production situation in the countryside, and even he was worried about the problems of peasant life, full of sincerity let everyone feel his pure heart.
After that, Peng Dehuai also went to inspect a school founded in 1922 under his hometown of Wushi Peak, and personally nominated it for "Wushi School".
In the winter of 1979, Pu Anxiu returned here with Peng Dehuai's nostalgia for his hometown, and Liu Renchu, who had a brief exchange with Peng Dehuai at that time, was still working at wushi credit cooperatives.
On December 9, before leaving, Pu Anxiu sent someone to Wushi Credit Union and said that she would make a regular deposit certificate in the name of Peng Dehuai and prepare to deposit 10,000 yuan on a regular basis.

When Liu Renchu learned of this news, he immediately sent an accountant from a credit union to find Urayasu with a blank deposit certificate and seal to handle the relevant procedures.
After receiving this fund, the accountant opened a certificate of deposit to Pu Anxiu on the spot, and Pu Anxiu immediately wrote on the remarks column of the deposit certificate: Ji Peng supported the construction of Wushi School on March 10, 1981.
Pu Anxiu donated this fund to Peng Dehuai's hometown to build a new teaching building for the primary school in their hometown, which was also Peng Dehuai's wish before his death, and he was full of nostalgia and gratitude for his fathers and fellow villagers in his hometown.
For the money that the central government reissued to Peng Dehuai, Pu Anxiu not only did not take any money but also distributed it reasonably in accordance with Peng Dehuai's last wishes.
People are very confused, although Pu Anxiu is Peng Dehuai's ex-wife, but after all, it is very reasonable for her to take some money from it.
But Urayasu did not do this, because she had always felt guilty about Peng Dehuai in her heart.

After the Lushan Conference in 1959, Urayasu came under political pressure for her husband, Peng Dehuai.
At that time, she was holding the position of deputy secretary of the party committee at Beijing Normal University, and the comrades around her had been doing ideological work for her after learning of her difficulties, advising her to immediately "draw a clear line" with Peng Dehuaihua.
Pu Anxiu also felt very painful and confused about this, and after constant struggle, she finally handed over the divorce report to the party committee of Beijing Normal University.
Pu Anxiu was reluctant to tell Peng Dehuai her request for divorce in person, and after repeated decisions, Pu Anxiu found Peng Dehuai's niece Peng Meikui and explained her thoughts and the things she had done.
Peng Meikui knew pu anxiu's difficulties, so he helped her relay the matter to Peng Dehuai, who remained silent after listening to his niece's words.
After a long time, Peng Dehuai opened his mouth to his niece Peng Meikui, saying that he knew, and he also understood that his wife's pressure was too great, which was a forced choice, but he was still very distressed by Pu Anxiu's decision.
In October 1962, under the leadership of Peng Meikui, Pu Anxiu met with Peng Dehuai to discuss divorce.
On this day, Peng Dehuai also brought a large pear, he personally washed the pear and then cut it into two very even pieces, carefully put it on the plate and pushed it in front of Pu Anxiu.
After doing this, he said to Pu Anxiu in a serious tone that although he agreed to the divorce, he was still unwilling to break up in his heart, and if Pu Anxiu would take half a pear to eat, it would mean that the two would be separated from then on, and there would be no relationship, one knife and two cuts.
Urayasu hesitated, but finally took a bite of half of the pear, and she finished eating it crying.
Since then, although the pressure on Urayasu has been much less, she has always felt a deep guilt in her heart for Peng Dehuai, and she hates that she did not share his hardships with him in her most difficult time, and Urayasu has not been able to forgive herself.
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="239" > collate his writings before his death</h1>
In order to alleviate the pain in her heart, after Peng Dehuai's death, Pu Anxiu has spent a large part of his energy on sorting out Peng Dehuai's writings before his death.
The process of sorting out was very hard, and Peng Dehuai had given some of the materials he had written to his niece Peng Meikui for preservation long before his death, and due to external factors, these materials had never been made public in Peng Meikui.
It was not until January 3, 1979, that Peng Meikui wrote a letter to Hu Yaobang, then secretary general of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the saved materials were also handed over to Hu Yaobang.
After Hu Yaobang saw it, he immediately handed it over to the Central Committee, which set up a special group to compile Peng Dehuai's biography to sort out his writings during his lifetime.
Later, Pu Anxiu offered to join peng Dehuai's biography writing team as an outsider and participate in the work of collating and publishing, and in the 1980s, the book was published and distributed nearly 3 million copies.
In 1983, Pu Anxiu participated in the completion of the "Peng Dehuai Chronicle", and on this basis, the nearly 80,000-word "Biography of Peng Dehuai" was officially concluded in 1984.
In 1985, the Party Committee of the General Office of the Central Military Commission formally led the work of Peng Dehuai's biography working group, but stipulated that family members would not participate in the writing. So this time, Urayasu quit the writing team, although not directly involved in the writing work, Urayasu continued to help the work as always, to help the work.
Since the publication of the book "Peng Dehuai's Self-Description", it has been translated into the language of several ethnic minorities in China and published in several foreign languages, among which some manuscript fees have been received one after another, with an amount of nearly two thousand yuan.
This fee made Urayasu very emotional, she once said:
"This book is not an ordinary book. It was written by Mr. Peng with blood and tears under extremely difficult circumstances. The remuneration is not owned by anyone, and no one can keep it for private use, so it must be used in the most meaningful place. ”
Peng Dehuai has been paying attention to the development of education in rural areas since his death, so Pu Anxiu plans to use this fee to improve the conditions for running schools in border and poor areas for the elderly and young.
After that, Pu Anxiu donated all the money to wang jiayu school in Wuxiang County and Matian school in Zuoquan county. On behalf of Peng Dehuai, she wanted to return this last bit of her effort to the people of the old district who had raised him.
Maybe Pu Anxiu's strength could only play a little role, but she believed that if she did it, Marshal Peng Dehuai would also be pleased.
