The pest characteristics are mainly larvae as the whole plant, and when they are young, they are clustered to eat on the back of the leaves, and after 3 years, they are scattered into harmful leaves and young stems, and the old larvae can eat the fruit. Its diet is both mixed and harmful to various organs, and it forms overeating in old age, which is a pest with great harm.
Occurs regularly in 4 to 5 generations a year, with pupae overwintering at 3 to 5 cm below the soil. Adults lurk in the shadows such as leaf backs or crevices during the day and come out at night. Each female moth can lay 3 to 5 eggs, about 100 to 200 eggs per piece, and the eggs are mostly produced at the bifurcation of the leaf veins on the leaf back, and the larvae can be hatched after 5 to 6 days, and the leaf back is gathered during the initial incubation. After the 4th instar, like adults, they hide in the soil surface or crevices under the leaves during the day, and climb to the plant to feed on the leaves in the evening. Adult insects have a strong phototropism and chemotaxis, and the effect of black light lamps is more obvious than that of ordinary lamps, and they are also sensitive to sugar, vinegar and wine. The incubation temperature of the eggs is about 24 °C, the larvae at a temperature of 25 °C, after 14 to 20 days, the suitable soil moisture of the pupa is the soil moisture content of about 20010, and the pupal stage is 11 to 18 days.
Prevention and control measures
(1) Use insecticidal lamps and sex traps to trap adult insects.
(2) Combined with agricultural operations to remove uncubated egg blocks or damaged leaves that have not yet spread to the larvae.
(3) Pharmaceutical control can be used 15% indoxacarcinalis suspension 3000 ~ 4000 times liquid, or 20% carnitylhydrazide suspension 1000 ~ 2000 times liquid, or 10% insect mite nitrile suspension 1000 times liquid, or 5% methyl vitamin salt emulsion l500 times liquid. Choose any of the above agents, and it is best to ask after 4 p.m. when spraying.
