The young warrior instinctively opened his arms to prevent the blast and shrapnel from the explosion from hurting his comrades. As a result, after a loud noise, he had collapsed in a pool of blood, unconscious...
This young man, who protected his comrades-in-arms with his flesh and blood, and for this reason won the "first-class merit" was named Du Guofu.
In 2009, Du Fuguo signed up for the army. Du Guofu, who was enthusiastic since he was a child, brought his enthusiasm and responsibility to the military camp. Among the masses and comrades-in-arms, there is a well-known reputation.
Six years later, the demining brigade was formed, and it is planned to recruit more than 400 people. Du Guofu,who heard the news, felt a wild jump in his heart, and he wanted to get this opportunity too much, because he felt:
"The only criterion for measuring the value of life is what has really been done for the country, what has been done for the people... That's my mission, and my inner voice tells me I'm going to clear mines. These ideas were written in his petition intact.
Du Guofu's firm belief and lofty pursuit made the leaders of the troops and comrades-in-arms stand in awe, and in the end, he successfully joined the demining brigade. And Du Fuguo, who has always stressed that "if you don't do it, you will do it, you will do the best", and after joining the team, he began to work hard. He often spends twice to twice as much time on the learning of many skills and knowledge as others, but he never shouts "bitter" and "tired" because of these shouts.
In order to practice the "feel" of mine clearance, Du Guofu insisted on practicing tens of thousands of needles every day, and used the mine probe needles to turn over the turf in front of the training ground. In addition, he also asked his comrades-in-arms to bury iron nails, coins, and shrapnel at will, and increase the difficulty by obliquely burying, deep burial, mixing, winding, etc., so as to train the ability to "listen to sounds and distinguish objects". After accumulated training, Du Guofu mastered more than 10 kinds of mine removal methods, and trained the mine detector into his "third hand". In the final comprehensive assessment, Du Fuguo got "excellent" in all subjects.
With high moral cultivation and solid demining technology, Du Guofu has achieved the "first step to becoming a hero". However, to be able to truly skillfully use their demining skills to seek peace for the people on one side, more "actual combat experience" is needed.
The demining brigade in which Du Guofu participated was located in a border guard regiment in the Sino-Vietnamese border area. Here, for the first time, he saw a large number of villagers living near the minefield, mutilated by the bomb. Since then, Du Guofu has made up his mind not to let them continue to live a "fearful" life, and to eliminate all "security risks" with his comrades-in-arms. In the three years since then, Du Guofu has been in and out of the minefield more than a thousand times and has repeatedly made miraculous achievements.
According to the squad leader Xu Meng, he was extremely impressed that Du Fuguo had excluded a basin-sized Type 59 anti-tank mine. At that time, Du Fuguo knew that the danger of this thunder was strange, and immediately took the initiative to report: "Squad leader, let me come!" He carefully used a brush and a digging shovel to gently clean up the floating soil, and after removing the camouflage layer, he found that the top of the mine was dented, a carefully laid trick mine, and the anti-tank mine that originally weighed more than two hundred kilograms could be pressed and exploded, and now it would explode with a light touch. In order to ensure safety, the above ordered Du Guofu: "Carefully exclude, can not rule out the destruction on the spot." ”
Therefore, Du Fuguo carefully cracked the trick device, and the scene was silent, and everyone was nervous and did not even dare to breathe in the atmosphere. After about ten minutes, Du Fuguo, who was covered in sweat, pulled out the mine from the soil and showed a bright smile on his face. Everybody knows: the danger is lifted!
In the three-year-long demining work, Du Guofu also joined the Chinese Communist Party. When others asked why they wanted to join the party, Du Guofu's answer was: After joining the party, he will be able to walk in the forefront, enter a more complex minefield, and remove more difficult mines.
It turned out that in the mine-sweeping brigade, whenever a new recruit joined, a party member must lead the way in front, and the new recruit followed the party member into the minefield. When Du Guofu joined the party, he wanted to shoulder greater responsibilities on his own shoulders.
However, the god of luck did not always take care of this hero who "asked for the people's life". On October 11, 2018, on the afternoon of a harmonious day, Du Guofu and his comrades-in-arms came to the "Damzi" minefield. Since the "blasting" demining has been carried out here, and the mud has been blown out, the next thing the demining brigade has to do is to combine the two and sweep the mines again in the areas under their respective responsibilities. Partnering Du Guofu was his comrade-in-arms Ai Yan.
In order to ensure safety, they wore more than twenty pounds of explosion-proof suits, pedaled five pounds of explosion-proof shoes, and wore four-pound explosion-proof helmets on their heads. As he walked, Du Guofu's minesweeper suddenly sounded a piercing siren, "Not good! Du Guofu thought to himself, "Not good, there is thunder."
However, thousands of times of demining experience, let him stabilize his mind without panic, he picked up the walkie-talkie to report to the rear: found a part of the surface of the projectile, the initial judgment should be a "heavy grenade". Then, Du Guofu received an order to continue the platoon to see if there was a "trap".) In order to observe this grenade more closely, Du Guofu shouted to Ai Yan beside him: "You step back a little, let me come." ”
Ai Yan carefully moved his steps, gradually moving away from the grenade, at the same time, Du Guofu began to carefully clean up the floating soil around the grenade. Suddenly, there was a bang! The grenade exploded without warning, and the shock wave generated by the explosion instantaneously flipped the entire Ai Yan two or three meters away to the ground, while Du Guofu, who was closest to the grenade, was already a blur of flesh and blood, and lost consciousness...
After the explosion, the rescue team quickly rushed up and took Ai Yan and Du Guofu to the hospital. After treatment, Ai Yan's injuries were not serious. But Du Guofu was not so lucky.
Du Fuguo, who had just been admitted to the hospital, was blindfolded by gauze and covered with bandages. Although the father Du Jun had been mentally prepared for his son's injury, when he learned that Du Fuguo was blind in both eyes and had to amputate his limbs with both hands, the old father almost collapsed, he covered his chest and silently walked out of the emergency room, and then curled up in the corner of the corridor, without saying a word... Because when people are grieving to the extreme, they can't cry. After three days and three nights of rescue, although the twenty-seven-year-old Du Guofu finally outperformed the God of Death, his body was permanently disabled.
Just after this "living Lei Feng" Du Guofu paid a huge sacrifice for demining, the commendations and honors for him also followed. On November 18, 2018, Du Fuguo was credited with first-class merit once; in January 2019, Du Guofu was selected and commended by the Army as the first "four haves" revolutionary military pacesetter in the new era; on February 18, 2018, he won the honor of "Moving China 2018 Annual Figure"; two months later, the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee awarded Du Fuguo the honorary title of "Model of the Times"...
As a first-class meritorious man, Du Guofu can get about 80,000 pensions and other subsidies every year.
