Xili Village, about a 20-minute drive from Ledong County, was once a deeply impoverished village, and before the entire village was lifted out of poverty in 2018, there were 114 poor households in the village's 456 households, and Xing Haiping's family was one of them. "I used to do cleaning work in a mixing station in Haikou, and my monthly income was only 1700 yuan. Earn a living on a meager part-time income and minimum guarantee. Xing Haiping said.
When the reporter recently visited Xili Village, Xing Haiping and his wife were cooperating with each other to feed chickens in their rubber forest. Catching chickens, loading feed, pushing bucket carts... One by one, it is not difficult for ordinary people to work, and they have to make more efforts.
Why did Xing Haiping and his wife, who are physically disabled in large-scale breeding, choose to face difficulties?
"No matter what, I want to change, I don't want to just wait for the government to help, I want to rely on myself!" Xing Haiping said that the Hainan Federation of Industry and Commerce and the Ledong County Government plan to introduce enterprises into the village to run chicken farms in 2018, and villagers are worried that enterprises will not last long. "The hardest job is getting off the chicken (unloading the chicken seedlings), unloading the feed (unloading the feed), and getting on the chicken (loading the chicken onto the car). There were 200 packs per order, and I only asked two people to help, and my wife and I also participated, because we hired more people and spent money. Although they were physically inconvenienced, Xing Haiping and his wife were willing to work hard.
