Report: U.S. players are unhappy with Greg Popovich's Spurs offense

According to The Athletic's Joe Waden, even the U.S. players were frustrated with the result and performance against France. They reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with Coach Popper's offensive approach.

To be clear, Popovich was shocked by his record of coaching this team. He always thought about it and hated failure. The players were also frustrated, complaining about "Spurs' offense" on their way back to the dressing room, apparently feeling they had a better idea. Popper said that due to the streamlined nature of team U.S. training camps, the offense will be based on "concepts" rather than fixed tactics.

In the game where the United States lost 76-83 to France, there were a lot of things that were not good for the United States. Unfamiliarity with FIBA rules is palpable, and the lack of chemistry – possibly due to short lead times.

Unfortunately, the U.S. team didn't have time to blame each other, as they were now only one defeat away from being eliminated. Instead of talking about what went wrong, Popovich and his team need to focus on finding solutions to the offensive dilemma.
