Later, he was promoted to Shaanxi Yi Chuandao, Anhui Envoy, Fujian Cloth Government, Yunnan Cloth Envoy and other positions. During his tenure as a political envoy in Yunnan, he also acted as the inspector of Yunnan.

Zhao Zhixin, a Qing Dynasty realist poet and a native of Shandong, lived in Qingjinyuan for the longest time, and he received help from Zhang Lin when he was in Luotuo. At that time, Wu Wen, a scholar from Shanxi who was known as "Xiancai" by the world, had a deep friendship with Zhang Lin, and even the house in his family of Puzhou was built for him by Zhang Lin. The famous Qing Dynasty dramatist Hong Sheng's famous work "The Legend of the Hall of Eternal Life" was finalized in the Qingjin Garden. Fang Bao, the founder of the Tongcheng School, and Zhu Yizun, a well-known scholar with many eruditions, not only left many popular poems in Qingjin Garden, but also expounded his academic views here, which in turn promoted cultural exchanges between the north and the south and enlivened the Tianjin literary circle.

However, things were not normal, and in the thirty-ninth year of the Kangxi Dynasty (1700), Zhang Lin was impeached and dismissed. Kangxi Forty-fourth Year (1705) June 1 Ai Xin Jue Luo. Xuan Ye issued a will to investigate Zhang Lin on the way to the north, and Zhang Lin was sentenced to be beheaded and imprisoned, his family property was confiscated, and the Garden of Qingjin was gradually deserted.

Zhang Lin was dismissed from his post and imprisoned for selling smuggled salt during his position as a political envoy in Fujian and Yunnan, and died a few years later. Zhang Lin's son Zhang Xi was ordered to send Ningguta, and the family property was confiscated. With the decline of the Zhang family, the Qingjin Garden became increasingly desolate, and in the last years of the Kangxi Dynasty, it had become a ruin. During the Qianlong period, the descendants of the Zhang family once repaired Siyuanzhuang on the original site, and as the Zhang family's cemetery, its scale was far less than that of The Qingjin Garden. Today, the Wenjin Garden and Siyuanzhuang built in the early Qing Dynasty no longer exist.
