Xiao Feng (1932-), formerly known as Yu Hongqing, studied in the Jiangdu Jian Division in the anti-Japanese base area in August 1943 and joined the anti-Japanese propaganda team, changing his name to Xiao Feng. In 1944, he joined the Youth Anti-Japanese Literary and Art Group - Xin'an Tour Group. Follow the military. In 1948, he was stationed in Jinan with the army and participated in the painting exhibition for the first time. In May 1949, he went south with the army to liberate Shanghai and engaged in literary and artistic propaganda work. In 1950, he joined the Communist Party of China and was transferred to the Hangzhou National Art College in June.
In Hangzhou National Art College (the predecessor of China Academy of Art), thanks to the teachings of Lin Fengmian, Huang Binhong, Pan Tianshou, Mo Puzhu masters. In 1953, he was selected with honors to be sent to the Repin Academy of Fine Arts in the former Soviet Union for further study. After graduating from the Soviet Union in 1960, he returned to his alma mater to teach. Since 1983, he has served as the president of the China Academy of Art (formerly the president of the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts) for 13 years.
In January 2001, Xiao Feng received the certificates of "Russian Pudkinshi Cultural Medal" and "Honorary Professor of Repin Academy of Fine Arts". In June, he and his wife Song Ren went to Russia to participate in the 8th Petersburg Art Festival and won the title of "Master of Art" in Russia.

Most of the historical paintings he has made are based on their personal experience in the early years, full of true feelings, and they also like to make characters and landscapes.
Xiao Feng is a famous oil painter and art educator in China. He once served as an advisor to the China Artists Association, vice chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Federation of Literature and Literature, chairman of the Zhejiang Artists Association, vice president of the China Oil Painting Society, vice president of the China Art Education Promotion Association, member of the Art Education Committee of the State Education Commission, president of the China Art Newspaper, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and president of the China Academy of Art.
