Urumqi, May 11 (Xinhuanet) -- From June 1 to October 15, the first dinosaur fossil exhibition in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region will be held at the Changji Dinosaur Museum in Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture. Visitors will not only be able to see local dinosaur fossils, but also enjoy 26 precious exhibits from the Sichuan Zigong Dinosaur Museum.
Bai Xueling, director of the Changji Dinosaur Museum, introduced that the museum displays 105 ancient vertebrate fossils excavated from Xinjiang. In addition to dinosaurs of various shapes, there are also symbiotic animals with them, such as fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammal fossils. Among them, the "treasure of the town hall", the Zhongjia Mamenxi Dragon is nearly 35 meters long, with its feet on the negative floor of the dinosaur hall and the three floors of the dinosaur hall overhead, which is known as the "first dragon in Asia".
Since dinosaur fossils are national treasures, more than a dozen experts and professors from the Sichuan Zigong Dinosaur Museum were sent to accompany them. Yu Yong, an expert who has rushed to Xinjiang to set up the exhibition, said that the 26 exhibits from Sichuan include complete dinosaur fossils, as well as dinosaur eggs, dinosaur phalanges and simulated live machines of various dinosaurs, among which the fossil skeleton is more complete as Tianfu Emei Dragon and Li Shu Dragon; in addition, there are Sichuan Giant Spiny Dragon, Zigong Sichuan Dragon, Long-headed Narrow-nosed Pterosaurus, Multi-toothed He Xinlu Dragon, Parrot-billed Dragon and other dinosaur skeleton fossils.
In addition to looking at dinosaur fossils, 13 simulated robotic dinosaurs from Sichuan also became a highlight of this exhibition. Yu Yong introduced that these "resurrected dinosaurs" can walk, roar, and are 1 meter to 1. 6 meters, arranged in the dinosaur museum for children to ride, will greatly increase the interactivity and entertainment.
Bai Xueling said that in order to let visitors know and understand dinosaurs in a relaxed atmosphere, Changji Dinosaur Museum has set up a 4D cinema in the entertainment and interactive area on the second floor, simulated excavation of dinosaur fossils, dinosaur skeleton splicing games, and experienced interactive scenes such as dinosaur laying eggs, so that children feel as if they are in the ancient Jurassic era.
