Widow Gull Also known as The Widow Gull (scientific name: Larus relictus) Is an endangered migratory bird of the family Gull family, a medium-sized waterfowl with a body length of about 40 cm. Adult summer feathers: the entire head is dark brown to black, the upper edge reaches the back of the neck, the lower edge reaches the lower throat and the front neck, and the dark tan gradually transitions from front to back to pure black, connecting with the white neck. The upper, lower and posterior margins of the eyes have significant white spots , with a white neck ; a pale grey back ; and pure white waist , tail coverts and tail feathers.

The gulls prefer to inhabit open plains and saltwater or freshwater lakes in desert and semi-desert areas, and in Taoli Temple - Alxa Bay Haizi, the lake is inhabited by muddy sandbars and soaked moss grass beaches, and sand willows and lemon strips are planted around the lake. The remaining gulls come here in droves every spring, standing with their heads and necks straight. At dusk on a sunny day, many of the gulls who have gone out to forage for food have returned, playing and entertaining on the island and nearby water, a very noisy and spectacular scene.
Every March, as the gulls move north, they have replaced themselves with new and colorful feathers, ready to make a long journey to the nest area, attract one of the opposite sexes and form a mate. Some get to know each other and pair up on the way to migration, while the vast majority of them arrive at the breeding ground before they become parents. The closest distance between nests is sometimes only 7 cm the outer diameter of the nest is 19-27 cm, the inner diameter is 11-14 cm, and the depth is 2-6 cm. It is mainly composed of dry grass with feathers inside. 2-3 eggs are laid per clutch
