In 2017, as the deputy leader of the special team to combat telecommunications fraud crimes in the sub-bureau, he played the role of "sharp knife", led the special case team to more than ten places and cities in Henan, Heilongjiang, Beihai and other places and cities, drove 10,000 kilometers, braved the heat and tasted the ice, lasted nearly a year, set the first case in the city, and successively smashed a telecommunications fraud gang impersonating a military soldier in Henan Shangcai and a QQ fraud gang from Binyang in Guangxi, saving huge losses for the masses.
In October 2018, the sub-bureau decided to close the net against Ye Lizhi, the main criminal of the "10.21" gang (whose murder case is at large). He led the arrest team, using synthetic combat information combined with the time-space compression method to determine the suspect's hiding range, and after six consecutive days and five nights of squatting, locked the specific den. When he learned that the criminal was carrying a gun in an extremely dangerous situation, he took the lead and charged forward, and finally completed the arrest operation with zero casualties.
Over the years, whenever major and vicious cases have occurred in the whole region, Comrade Guo Dong has braved the wind and rain and survived the frontline of the battle. In the 24 years since joining the police, Comrade Guo Dong has successively investigated and participated in the investigation of 49 homicide cases, cracked 175 other major and difficult cases, and has been rated as "expert in solving cases" and "advanced individual in public security work" by the municipal and county public security bureaus for many times.
In February 2012, he was awarded the second class merit of "Net Clearance Action" by the Public Security Department of Shaanxi Province, and was rated as "Advanced Individual in Police Style Construction" by the Municipal Public Security Bureau in 2011; in March of the same year, he was awarded the "People's Satisfaction with Political and Legal Cadres and Policemen" by the Political and Legal Committee of the Municipal Party Committee in 2011;
In May 2014, he was awarded the 13th "Top Ten Outstanding Youths of Hanzhong City" by the Hanzhong Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, and was elected as the "National Model of Loving the People" in August of the same year;
In March 2015, he was rated as "2014 People's Satisfied Political and Legal Cadres and Policemen" by the Political and Legal Committee of the Municipal Party Committee; in April of the same year, he was elected to participate in the "Shaanxi Police Story";
In February 2016, he was commended by the Political and Legal Committee of the Provincial Party Committee as "Political and Legal Cadres and PoliceMen Satisfied by the People of the Province"; in March of the same year, he was rated as "Ten Best Heavenly Han Guards" by the Hanzhong Municipal Public Security Bureau, remembering his personal third-class merit once; in April of the same year, he was commended by the Hanzhong Municipal Party Committee and the Hanzhong Municipal People's Government as "Model Worker (Advanced Worker)"; he was selected by the Municipal Bureau to participate in the provincial "Wang Yong-style Individual" appraisal; and in December of the same year, he was selected by the Municipal Bureau to participate in the national "Excellent Police" appraisal;
In April 2017, he was rated as an advanced individual in "Qin Dun Action" by the Municipal Public Security Bureau, "Captain of an Excellent Section Institute" by the County Bureau, and in June of the same year, he was selected by the Municipal Bureau to participate in the national "Top 100 Criminal Police" selection;
In April 2018, he was rated by the Provincial Public Security Department as "Advanced Individual in the Province's 2017 Special Action to Combat New Illegal Crimes in Telecommunications Networks"; in August of the same year, he was selected by the Municipal Bureau to participate in the Selection of Advanced Individuals in the Ministry of Public Security's Crackdown on Theft, Robbery and Fraud Crimes.
In March 2019, he was rated as "Excellent Section Leader" and "Advanced Individual in Sweeping Gangs and Eliminating Evil" by Nanzheng Branch Bureau;
In March 2020, he was rated as "Advanced Individual in The Fight Against Organized Crime and Evil" by the Hantai Branch Bureau, and in August of the same year, he was selected to participate in the national "Top 100 Criminal Police" selection;
At the same time, during his tenure in the Chengguan Criminal Police Team, he was rated as "Advanced Unit for Target Responsibility Assessment" by the County Public Security Bureau for five consecutive years; "Excellent Grassroots Unit in the City" by the Municipal Bureau for the second time; Rongli Collective Third Class Meritorious Service Once; and "Advanced Unit for Law Enforcement Standardization" by the County Bureau for three consecutive years. On behalf of the county public security bureau, he has participated in the selection of classic cases and technical and tactical methods of the municipal public security bureau for six times, of which three times have been selected, and on behalf of the municipal public security bureau, he has participated in the selection of classic cases and technical and tactical methods in the province, and has twice been selected as one of the top ten classic cases in the province.
