Beijing: The viruses in this round of the epidemic are all Delta variants with 3 independent branches of transmission

Beijing, October 27 (Xinhua) -- At the press conference on the prevention and control of the new coronavirus pneumonia epidemic in Beijing held on the 27th, Pang Xinghuo, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, introduced that the viruses in this round of epidemic in Beijing are all Delta variants, which are highly homologous to the viruses that have recently reported cases in Inner Mongolia, Gansu and other places in China, and there are 3 independent transmission branches that have been reported to be infected.

Pang Xinghuo said that the Beijing Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention carried out whole genome sequencing analysis and comparison of recent local cases associated with Beijing outside Beijing, and the results showed that the viruses in this round of epidemic were all Delta variants, which were highly homologous to the viruses reported in Inner Mongolia, Gansu and other places in China, and belonged to the same chain of transmission; as of now, Beijing has reported that there are 3 independent transmission branches of infected people, namely Fengtai transmission branch, Changping transmission branch, and related cluster epidemic transmission branches involving Fengtai, Haidian and Changping.

At the press conference on the same day, Pan Xuhong, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, reported five typical cases of epidemic-related violations and crimes, including violating community containment and control measures and disobeying the management of epidemic prevention staff; violating the requirements for epidemic prevention and control in beijing and evading normal inspections; violating the epidemic prevention and control regulations in public places, not wearing masks and temperature checks as required, refusing to obey management; refusing to implement the requirements for the suspension of the opening of closed places during the epidemic period; illegally organizing inter-provincial tourism activities and obstructing the prevention and control of infectious diseases.

In addition, Li Yi, deputy secretary of the Education Working Committee of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, also introduced the changes in the epidemic prevention requirements for the Beijing Primary and Secondary School Teacher Qualification Examination in the second half of 2021, which will be held on October 30. The total number of registered candidates in the city is 92,000, and there are 48 test centers, all of which are colleges and universities, distributed in 8 districts such as Haidian District, Chaoyang District and Daxing District.
