Grass and trees have feelings, and so do people.
In 1965, Yang Shangkun was dismissed from his post as director of the General Office of the Central Committee, and was beaten from revolutionary to anti-party prisoner with grievances overnight. Since then, he has lived in prison for twelve years. This Marxist, who has great loyalty and enthusiasm for the party and the country, is nearly sixty years old, and his physical condition is much worse than before, and the heavy psychological blow has made this old man who has entered the year of knowing his destiny become full of gray hair.

Life in prison is extremely hard, and what is even more bitter is the confusion and wandering after suffering grievances. When Yang Shangkun was plagued by illness and his hopes were almost shattered. An ordinary warrior handed him a small bag of sugar cubes, and it was this gentle hand that made him feel the warmth and conscience of the world. It is also this warmth that makes Yang Shangkun see the brilliance in human nature again, and also see the flame of hope for the cause of the Unjing Revolution, after being rehabilitated and released from prison, Yang Shangkun looked for this little soldier who helped him in prison, hoping to repay his kindness.
In 1907, Comrade Yang Shangkun was born in Pengxi, Sichuan. At that time, the educational conditions were backward, and many children could not go to school, and if they wanted to get ahead in their studies, they had to achieve good results. Yang Shangkun is one of them, he was not only smart enough when he was a student, but also worked hard enough to finally get the opportunity to study at a normal school in Chengdu.
During his time at the school, Yang Shangkun came into contact with Marxism for the first time, and soon, under the guidance of Marxism, his thinking underwent a profound change. Yang Shangkun actively participated in various progressive activities organized by the teachers and students of the school, and later the revolutionary wave surged up, Yang Shangkun joined the Communist Party of China without hesitation, and like tens of millions of young people with lofty ideals at that time, he threw himself into the personal exploration of the Chinese nation's salvation and survival.
In 1931, Yang Shangkun, who had returned from studying in the Soviet Union, came to the Party Central Committee to preside over and participate in propaganda work. In order to let more children of workers and peasants join our party and complete the great cause of anti-feudalism and anti-aggression together, Yang Shangkun often worked late into the night. At that time, the living conditions were very hard, and due to overwork, Yang Shangkun suffered from hypoglycemia, but this still did not affect his enthusiasm for the party's cause.
In 1933, Yang Shangkun moved to Jiangxi with the Red Army. On the one hand, he continued to do propaganda work, and on the other hand, he served as the director of the political department of the Red First Army. He fought on the front line with Mr. Zhu De and Comrade Zhou Enlai. Later, when the Long March began, together with Mr. Peng, he led the Red Third Army on a arduous trek, worked tirelessly, and finally did not fail to live up to the expectations of our party and successfully completed the task.
From joining the party to following the revolutionary contingent to the north and south, Yang Shangkun made great contributions to the party's propaganda cause and political work, and after the Long March, the War of Resistance Against Japan broke out. Yang Shangkun also actively mobilized within the party, and at the same time fought with the great warlords, counter-revolutionary forces, and Japanese Kou, and was born into death without fear. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, in order to reward his contributions, the organization appointed him as the director of the General Office of the Central Committee.
Soon after, a special period came, and a large number of old revolutionaries were unfairly accused. Yang Shangkun bore the brunt of it and was imprisoned. At that time, Yang Shangkun's health was getting worse and worse, and all kinds of old diseases left over from the war period had erupted in the wet and cold prison. Especially low blood sugar, if there is no timely replenishment of sugar, even life may be in danger.
Just when Yang Shangkun didn't know how to be good and barely struggled with the disease, a pair of hands reached out to him. It was a soldier in charge of guard work in the prison, and after a long time together, this soldier found that Yang Shangkun was not as smeared as described by the outside world. When he saw that this old comrade was about to be unable to bear it, he moved his heart of compassion, so he gave him a bag of sugar, and it was this bag of sugar that made Yang Shangkun feel the warmth of human nature.
Years later, the grievances were washed away, and Yang Shangkun was rehabilitated. He still remembers the soldiers in prison. At the lowest point of his life, it was this little comrade who helped him get through the difficulties. After several searches, Yang Shangkun finally found this soldier named Tian Zhenghong, it was already 1985, it had been one or two decades since he lived in prison, when Yang Shangkun saw this soldier again, he had also retired at home, looking at Tian Zhenghong's family disciples, Yang Shangkun offered to help him improve his life, Tian Zhenghong refused Yang Shangkun's kindness, he felt that it was just a show of hands, and he should not accept Yang Shangkun's retribution.
Yang Shangkun was deeply touched by the noble sentiments of this warrior, and the two became close friends ever since. This past has been circulating in the party and is still talked about by people.
