Youmin Temple, a famous temple in ancient China and the birthplace of the Buddhist Zen buddhism "Hongzhou Zen", is located at No. 181 Minde Road, Donghu District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. The temple was built during the Liang Tianjian period (502-519) of the Southern Dynasty, and was originally the private residence of Ge Sturgeon, the master of King Weizong of Yuzhang, and was donated as a temple because of the "Zhenjiaolong". During the Tang Dynasty, the Zen monk MaZu Dao came to the temple and said that believers gathered in Hongzhou to form "Hongzhou Zen", and Youmin Temple (then known as "Kaiyuan Temple") became the center of Buddhism in Jiangnan at that time. Later, Silla monks continued to come to the temple to practice, and the Zongfeng Xin Method of Yoomin-ji Temple was spread to the Korean Peninsula, Japan and other places. Since then, when the Temple of Youmin was destroyed, it was successively renamed Chengtian Temple, Nohin Temple, Yongning Temple and other names.

In 1957, Youmin Temple was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit. Since September 1986, it has been gradually rebuilt, and by the beginning of 1991, the Mountain Gate, the Hall of the Heavenly King, the Hall of the Great Treasure, the Hall of medicine masters, and the Bell Tower have been completed successively, and the monks have been opened, and the incense is quite popular. The only remaining bronze bell (Southern Tang cast, weighing 10,064 pounds) in Nanchang's "Three Treasures" (youmin Temple bronze Buddha, bell and drum tower bronze bell, Puxian Temple iron elephant) is now placed in the bell tower, and the modern Nanchang folk song has a cloud: "Jiangxi is poor and poor, and there are 36,000 copper", that is, this refers to this.

Youmin Temple has been famous in East and Southeast Asia for its incense for generations. The "Hongzhou Zen" that originated from Youmin Temple was one of the two major sects of Zen Buddhism in the Tang Dynasty alongside the Stone Sect, and opened up the Later Buddhist sects of Linji, Yangyang, Yangqi, and Huanglong.
