Chiayi is one of the earliest developed places in Taiwan, and the culture of "eating" originated earlier. Alishan District is full of bamboo forests, and "bamboo tube rice" is one of the most famous local special snacks. The traditional practice is to fill the bamboo tube with raw glutinous rice, then stuff the mouth of the bamboo tube with cabbage or mountain crisp, and then roast it with charcoal, and in a short time, the fragrance of the bamboo will be mixed with the aroma of rice. The signature food of the snack stall at No. 122 Guanghua Road in Chiayi City, winter vegetables, shrimp and eggs, has a unique method and has a history of more than 40 years. It is a broth made by boiling chicken and shrimp, and adding half-cooked boiled duck eggs, winter vegetables, and shrimp soup. The soup is delicious and has a unique flavor.
Grace crisp
The full name is Grace Square Puff pastry, created by the Veterans Party Changfa in 1971 at his own bakery. Because the party chief likes to watch classical court dramas, he often says to customers "thank the emperor for grace". Since then, the square pastry he sold has been called "grace crisp".
