The 15th Supervision Group of the Eighth General Inspection of the State Council recently found that Nayong County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province, plans to invest 10 million yuan in financial special poverty alleviation funds from 2015 and cooperate with local enterprises to build a provincial-level agricultural demonstration park, but the project was in ruins shortly after construction, resulting in the 8.62 million yuan of poverty alleviation funds that have been invested, hundreds of acres of permanent basic farmland abandoned for more than 5 years, and 570,000 yuan of land circulation funds owed to villagers.
The inspection team said that when the local government allocated funds to enterprises, it did not care about the use of funds, resulting in the abandonment of the project. The government workers in charge of the project at the time did not know how the funds were being used.
